Why does Frazier match up better h2h against "modern heavyweights" than Marciano?

I think anyone with common sense can see that there's something going on with Marcinano's measurements. No way are his thighs 22 inches. That would make Marvin Hagler have bigger arms and the same size thighs which just isn't true take a look at the film.

"Butt Hurt" I literally haven't heard that since I was in middle school. Congratulations you have the vocabulary of a 13 year old.

Seems like you're the one that's "butt hurt" (probably your husbands doing). I made a very calm post and you interpret it as some **** storm of anger and frustration.

Correct. It isn't the weight in and of itself. Weight classes exist because all things being equal, the bigger man will be at an advantage when it comes to strength, punch resistance and punching power. But if the smaller guy is equally as strong or stronger, can hit hard enough to hurt the bigger man and take the bigger man's punches and can hit as hard or perhaps harder than the bigger man, the weight is irrelevant in that case.

As weight increases, size becomes less of an issue. It's why he can debate whether a 185 pound Marciano would beat a 205 pound Frazier, but it's much less of a debate on whether a 160 pound Jake Lamotta would beat a 185 pound Marciano.

I also like how one dude has like 5 accounts, and just posting the same reaffirming things to himself. It's so damn weird.

I think it is the size. Marciano would now be a cruiserweight. But if you put a 6-2 260 pound Marciano in the ring with most guys, he would be great.

Your right we really don't know. There is some mystery with Marciano in general. We didn't see him fight those bigger heavyweights that came along later. Maybe he does better than conventional wisdom implies.

Frazier is a better fighter or even in nearly every category except the right hand.

    Hook-joe
    Body shots-joe
    Hand speed-joe
    Head movement-joe
    Stamina-even
    Chin-possibly even
    Right hand-rocky
    Defense-joe
    Heart-even

Joe was also 20 lbs heavier.

Joes resume is also way better. He fought nearly all the best contenders of the era, cleaning out his division before winning the title. Rocky misses several guys on the way up and retired early when there were still good contenders available and new ones on the rise.

Joe beat three very good, tall athletic skilled opponents who all became belt holders (ali, mathis, bugner). Marcianos biggest "modern sized" opponents were shkor and vingo who were complete garbage and an old, gunshy, chubby joe louis desperate for a payday.

He did fight bigger heavyweights, and we know he could hurt big men and move them with his punch. Just because a guy like Johnny Shkor didn't possess the boxing skills of Lennox Lewis, doesn't make his height and weight any less than it what it was.

I don't see Frazier as being better equipped. Marciano has the advantage in those key HW intangibles, power and durability.

As for technique, Rocky was actually better at closing distance:

Talk to a thirteen year old in the language he understands.
I'll tell you what happened here Sonny, you sneered at Richdanahuff and questioned his boxing credentials.

He supplied them and impressive they are too!
This is his reaction to your sneering in your post

"Man you are a smart ass the response is clear just not clear to you when someone disagrees with you....".
Realizing you were attacking a guy who has forgotten more about boxing than you will ever know, you quickly changed tactics and went into reverse and began fawning on him.It was pretty funny to watch.
When I mentioned it you responded by saying," we are okay now."
Yeah you sure are because you quickly swallowed your knob and ate crow.lol

I would disagree that Frazier has the better resume. Aside from Ali (who beat Frazier 2 out of 3) I don't see any edge for Frazier. Marciano's wins over Walcott, Moore, Charles, etc easily match or better every win Frazier as except Ali.
