Regarding opponents, Golovkin has faced comparatively better opposition. I don't disagree with that.

 

It's not a popularity contest. 90 percent of the boxing community had it a very close fight. The vast majority gave it to Triple G due to stylistic preference, herd mentality, confirmation bias, outrage over Byrd's wide card, etc. I'm happy to be in the minority of those that appreciate and value clean effective punching and know how a fight is supposed to be scored.

Most of the boxing community had it competitive, not close. Most of the people expressed that they had Golovkin winning clearly. If it were a popularity contest Alvarez would win hands down. Most people are actually partial to Alvarez's style vs Golovkin's. They like the flashy punches and fluid footwork that Alvarez is typically known for. It's just styles make fights and where a boxer may shine with some opponents, boxers with certain styles and qualities can negate or cause fits making it harder to look great.

Most of the professional boxing community thought Alvarez would win, after the fight most of the boxing community honestly expressed that their predictions were wrong and said GGG won the fight in clear fashion. If you claim to be able to score a fight correctly and are somehow more of an authority or more capable than professional boxers then that reveals a lot about you. Objectivity and open mindedness is sometimes difficult for those who are in the minority.

 

Well, in fact, Bumlovkin has FAILED to distinguish himself from Jacobs and Alvarez. Plenty of people think, and rightly so, that Bumlovkin LOST one or BOTH of those fights. The FACT that his last fight was called a draw MORE than proves my point.

OTOH, Crawford has NO peer @ 140 or 135. NONE.

Crawford > Bumlovkin

 

The minute Bumlovkin stepped up his opposition he stopped looking like such the monster we were led to believe in and started looking *very* beatable...

 

When fighters get a draw against Canelo then that's a little bit of a giveaway who won pmsl You strange man. You don't get a draw against the money man unless you have won. Funnily enough how 90% saw it

I think most fighters who step up and face higher level opposition they don't look as dominant. It's easy for elite level guys to look great against lower level opponents. Any boxer is beatable
