Why does hatton think he is fighting for the p4p title

Obviously if he wins he will name himself p4p no 1

 

Obviously he will be wrong. My list if Hatton wins will be like this:

1. JMM
2. B-Hop
3. Hatton
4. Pacman

Part of it is him promoting but sadly part of it is he's delusional and actually believes it.

 

If you beat the P4P Number 1, do you not become the P4P #1?


Ive always subscribed to the belief that if two fighters are in the same weight division roughly and fighter A is P4P #1, and is then beaten by fighter B who is also ranked P4P within the Top 10, then fighter B is the new #1. With fighter A then falling to the #2 spot.

The vast majority of Hatton's fan base are football fans, people who don't watch boxing unless Hatton's involved. If he tells them there's a lb4lb "title" they'll believe there is one because they don't know any better. It's annoying but from his point of view he's just selling tickets.

 

I think he actually thinks their is a belt that Manny is putting on the line May 2nd.

If Hatton wins, i can see him going "****s sake mate, wheres me belt? i still havent seen it."

But seriously its also a way to hype up the fight. People most likely casual fans will be like "Whoa this fight is massive its for the P4P title!"

 

He does not become the p4p king by beating Pacquiao. What the hell?
