Why does HBO continue to shove Ortiz down our throats?

Another casual fan who only tunes into boxing once every 12 months and spouts B.S. Since when has a slick boxer stopped Ortiz? ****ing joke.

Fairly concerning how deeply tentative Ortiz looked last night. Psychologists and boxing fans everywhere are monitoring his progress.

I enjoy Ortiz's fights, it's like watching an unborn child try to develope a heart.

Isn't watching a KO waiting to happen actually a good thing for us viewers?

That's because you're uneducated and stupid. Ortiz is signed with HBO, whether he loses or not they will continue to carry him till they're 100% sure he can't go on. You make it look like he lost all his professional fights when he only lost one and it was a tough battle, one loss is not the end of the world. Who did you expect them to match him with coming off a TKO loss?

He's a Golden Boy fighter and can potentially bring in the mexican-american audience in the future. Is he really that good? No, but we have to sit and hear about another HBO made fighter. The guy quit in the middle of a fight because he didn't want to take punishment. Ortiz is supposed to be a professional fighter, so he should know there will be punishment. If he was in danger of being seriously hurt I understand, but he just didn't want to be roughed up. I can see if he was an old vet who went through years of ring wars, but he never really had any very tough fights up until that point. None of this can be a good sign for a young boxer.

Why look somewhere else, when he got beat by Marcos Maidana and the only way he's going to live it down a little is by rematching the guy? Katsidis is currently a lightweight, why pay him a ton of money to fight someone at 140, when Maidana deserves it now because he knocked Ortiz out already and he's a junior welter?

Ortiz is a good example of what happens when you have a good team behind you.

Ortiz needs to work on his defence. He is still young, and will develop.
