Why does HBO keep claiming Calzaghe was floored by Eubank??

As I was watching the HBO re-broadcast of Calzaghe-Jones the other day, I heard them say something I had missed the first time. They mentioned that Calzaghe had been down in the first round against Eubank.

How does HBO keep making a mistake like this?? Did they even see the fight? This isn't the first time they've said this, they said it all through his fight with Hopkins. Not only that, but that jackass Kellerman actually mentioned in his post-fight interview to Calzaghe, "You were floored in the first round against Eubank...", and Calzaghe just stood there with a "WTF?" look on his face. You'd think someone, somewhere would've corrected that mistake, and that HBO would have it's sh*t together for the next time Calzaghe fought.

This isn't an isolated incident either. HBO has a history of either making sh*t up or getting facts blatantly wrong, and it's been getting worse in recent years. It's as if they don't do any research on their fighters at all. They have become the most uninformed/unprepared commentary team I've ever seen. The shame is that if anyone remembers HBO back in the '80s and early '90s, they used to be pretty good.

This is annoying. Wasn't it Kellerman saying this, or was it Lampley as well?

Really foolish. They need to do their research, or have the right info told them in their ears.

It is pretty ridiculous, not to just get it wrong more than once, but to keep using this factual error to back up whatever "keen" observation they're trying to make. What makes it even more incredible is that someone had looked up how many times Joe had been knocked down in his career, relayed it to the commentators but failed to realize that the Eubank fight was not one of them.

    Why does anyone care?

They also said Berto has great stamina despite being clearly gassed after 4 rounds

Showtime commentators are much better anyhow

I thought it was universally understood that HBO commentators know jack **** anyway. They constantly talk out of their ass....Really their opinions mean nothing.......This thread was born out of pent up anger and boredom:lol: :fire

Calzaghe dropped Eubank in about 20 seconds with a great left-hook... That was when he used to have power, but he then damaged his hands and lost his power.
