Why does HBO keep claiming Calzaghe was floored by Eubank??

1) Because it's their f*cking job.
2) Because sometimes we pay $50-plus to see one of their fights, and are perfectly entitled to expect quality work from them.
3) Why on earth should we have to listen to someone significantly dumber than us telling us what we should think for 40-plus minutes straight?
4) Did I mention IT'S THEIR F*CKING JOB??

 

Both have said it.

If I remember correctly, it was Lampley who said it during the Hopkins broadcast, and then Kellerman who repeated it to Calzaghe's face after the fight.

I forget who said it during the Jones fight, I believe it was Lampley.

The first time HBO said it, I figured at some point Lampley would interject with, "I'm sorry, one of my producers has informed me that i was wrong..." or something like that, as they sometimes do. But when Kellerman actually mentioned it to Calzaghe, I was like "You gotta be f*ckin kidding!" atsch

But to say it yet again during the Jones fight really takes the cake.

The sad part is that many boxing fans today have become complacent towards lousy commentating, probably because it's been so long since there's been good commentating that they've forgetten it ever existed at one time.
