I vowed after this last RJJ fight that I would never watch Hopkins again. I am proud to say that I have kept my vow. He will never get a dime of my money, or a second of my viewing time.

    he's worse than Hopkins now.

i'd hate to see what he does in a couple of years... maybe a semi automatic?

oh what a surprise! you're talking about Joe.

Joe cheated??? just another imaginary story that only happens in your mind.

real question: did you get beat up by someone from Wales, or did you find out your girlfriend ****ed someone from there?

it's definitely one of the two. you just can't help yourself, so it must really run deep in your mind.

    Calzaghe destroyed him

Rjj back in the day outclassed him easily

Toney would have done the same

Hopkins said he would never fight Stevenson or Kovalev...................Kovalev was Hopkins' mandatory, but Hopkins refused to fight him.................Hopkins lost to Dawson................

He got dirtier as he grew older. You need to resort to tricks if you wanna come out the victor at 50 years.

You've got to respect Hop for what he's achieved, but I agree with a lot of these comments on here.

In my opinion, it's psychological. He can't rely on his speed or fitness from the past, so he has to look for other ways to get the job done.

He always plays the tough guy brought up on the tough streets of Philly card, but then look what happens?

He's on the floor crying in pain, from a soft rabbit punch thrown by Roy in their rematch, which was actually in retaliation to what he'd done himself. That whole fight was a complete joke.

The Dawson fight was also a complete joke, the way in which he went down.

In his fight with Sir Joseph C (The GOAT, 46-0, no blueprint) he simply couldn't stand the pace.

If only his fights were as entertaining as his interviews. But again, you have to respect that he's still fighting.

Great thread and ive been wondering for the longest time as well. Hopkins fights like a weasel and has pulled a lot of sleazeball moves in his career but for some reason he gets a pass.
Another question. Why is it ok for him to duck Andre Ward? Because he is old and they are close like brothers? lol gtfo

Hopkins has some respectable wins but he's usually a cherrypicker. He's fighting Shumenov next and all of a sudden shumenov is a good fighter to some fans haha.

What's up my boy, Rad... exactly how I feel about that snaggle tooth con man. Well said.

Hops is probably the biggest hypocrite and the most shameless crybaby in boxing. What really gets to me was when he pulled that stunt against dawson and ruined the night for everybody.

This mother****er is one of the dirtiest fighters in the game yet he cant handle a little foul himself. He's a punk.

Or what about that time when he rematched a shot to **** roy and grovelled all over the canvas for free points after taking a light tap to the back of the head..

This guy is horrible man and he really rubs me in a wrong way. Guy is kind of pathetic for somebody who is supposed to be a "living legend" and this one is really good.. " throwback " fighter.:rofl

Hopkins for the first half of the fight proved Joe was never an great fighter with elite level skills.

He was a great British fighter for his time but not as great as his crazed fans make him out to be.

'Joe schools Marciano' etc - this is why he gets a bad rep nowadays.

He's old. He can't fight 12 rounds anymore without his little tricks and cheating methods.

    Interesting thread

    A Philly fighter never quits?

It does seem Hopkins has some fights where some odd things have happened. He fell and was unable to continue against Dawson, he fell out of the ring and couldnt continue against R Allen, he seemed to look like he was looking for time out against Calzaghe, he was knocked down by Jones and held the back of his head for a while and given a rest period, He had some time out in the Echoles rematch though did fight on.

calzaghe dropped him with a body shot and he tried to milk it as a foul. Btw Bhop is a quitter like ortiz.
