Why does it matter that Ward always fights in his hometown?

It's possible fighting outside wouldn't have changed the result, but it didn't win him any fans being the American in the World Super 6 tournament who refused to leave his home country

I think if he were arguably getting hometown decisions people would have an argument, but he's winning by very wide decisions. Just something to complain about.

As a fan of his (which was why I was at the LA fight), I really wish he would have taken Froch on in Nottingham. The outcome is likely a little closer, but a clear victory and leaves Ward detractors with one less stone.

Ward fought the Super Six Final in Atlantic City and he has won so clearly thus far that as others have said, it doesn't matter where the fights were held anyway, he would have won going away regardless.

Also, he has fought twice outside of America.

Not sure if that had been mentioned yet

It doesn't...it's a euro fanboy excuse for him beating the **** out of their favorites. As it pertains to the fight there will be no answer given worth a ****, it'll be 5 pages of "but so and so had to whatever" and pussified variations there of.

it can matter sometimes. I think a lot of fighters don't prepare properly if they are coming or going to Europe or farther. They should be at the locations country at least 2 weeks prior to the fight for there bodies to be adjusted properly.

    What a ****ing **** argument.

It makes no difference where Ward fights.
Calzaghe was **** because he wouldn't fight outside the UK.

I hope not one person that says it doesn't matter where Ward fights has never had a crack to Calzaghe, or any "euro" fighter for not leaving their home town or country.

Hey. What did it matter where Sven Ottke fought. He was winning easy all the time anyway.

It's obviously more difficult the further from home you fight.

I dont think it affects the fight so much but it would definately increase his fan base if he fought in some of the major Boxing Cities

No he doesnt. And the California State Athletic Commission proved he doesnt have too. He is a big time fighter. And the commission brings in big time officials to work his fights. They dont hire hometown officials. They bring in veterans from out of state to work the fights.

Big difference from Ottke and Calzaghe who fought using amatuer officials who never even worked major fights before.
