Why does it seem every Andre Ward fight negotiation seems like a uphill battle?

I mean is it because he is so stubborn and wants every fight in Oakland and his own ref?

The Bareera fight nearly never happened it took months for the fight to happen and even then it was a painfully long process

Ward is 6 weeks out from his supposed tune up fight for Kovalev and still no opponent is he still demanding crazy things at the table?

I am amazed to hear that the contracts for kovalev vs Ward is signed knowing ward

barrera whined and complained....the anti ward brigade made jokes and asked the same questions over and over...abel sanchez ran in his mouth

and in the end...the fight got made...and barrera and sanchez got served

    rinse, lather, repeat

You have to agree ward is a legend in his own mind

His stupid demands is what make negotiations with him hard

He knew golovkin was signed to fight david in a ppv fight :lol:

You honestly expect Golovkin to pull out of his first ppv fight with david which was signed and start negotiations with difficult ward?

he did not know that fight was signed...it hadn't been announced yet and ward would not be privy to their negotiations

even still....k2 could have said "were fighting Lemieux in October....how bout after that we talk....about maybe next year"

instead they said nothing of the sort and floated "maybe in 2017"...lol...when they hoped ward would be fully gone and out of their hair...what a bunch of pansies

    This.

Ward is legendarily hard to negotiate with. But then I guess that you could expect that from anybody calling themselves SOG ;)

For a world title no less :deal

Only people who are totally delusional would think GGG would drop a ppv title fight for a fight in Oakland that not only would be non title but probably wouldn't come off

Any fighter that manages to get all there demands over and over and refuse to travel must have a ***** of a team negotiation wise. May make good business sense in one respect and full points to his team for getting away with it to date but Ward with all his talent has managed to achieve recognition largely amongst patient, devoted fans.

FFS multiple tune up fights for a fighter of Ward's calibre!! What next in the world of sports - tune up Olympics?
