I heard he sunk all his money in his gym, but he was such a dick to everyone that nobody wanted to train there, and now the gym is in total disrepair and about to be taken away from him by the bank (if it hasn't been already), and he's got money problems.
ali destroyed him inside and outside the ring, but who helped ali when he was banned from boxing and out of dough, frazier.
The thing is though that this is not a phenomenon is that exclusive to boxing. Look at football, basketball, baseball. Hardly sports that eat away at your braincells. Hundreds of athletes that earned millions and were unable to live below their means, instead wasting all their money.
Here's a great interview posted on ESB with a boxing trainer who explained how many boxers go broke. They earn their first million and think they can start living like a millioniare: Why do boxers go broke? I work in a casino in Liverpool, England and Joe Frazier came in with about 8 heavies a few weeks ago. I wasnt there but I seen the camera footage and I was gutted... ... totally irrelevant to the thread but I just needed to tell someone... thanks for listening, your a great friend :|
Well we know why that is. And it starts with RANDOM and ends with TEST. Rumor is he may make up to 40 million on his next fight, so..............looks like he's doing something right?
EDUCATION....EDUCATION.....before you can prosper with money you need to learn how to make your money work for you and not you always working for the money!

This, but don't forget taxes. Taxes are 90% of what screws these guys. Almost all pro sports would be like this if it wasn't for mandatory pensions.
According to the NBA Players Association, 60 percent of retired NBA players go broke five years after their NBA paychecks stop arriving. And while the NBAPA is spreading the message of financial discretion around the league, it's hard to get past the actuality of the shocking number: 60 %. and most NBA players make more than most boxers, so I guess its not about how much you make it's about how you spend it.
