The are three main varieties of British stoppage.
The English stoppage, the Scottish stoppage, the Welsh stoppage.

After Wladimir Klitschko got off the deck in the 5th to hurt Joshua, put him down in the 6th and almost finish him off, Eddie Hearn did some research and discovered (in conversation with Joe Calzaghe) that the Welsh stoppage was on average the strongest form of British stoppage and just what he was looking for.

Because he likes whaling on opponents ,in this case he wants to pummel so Wales is the appropriate place. :headbash

Yeah only problem with Wales is the Welsh, only joking lol.

Agreed Wales has some stunning countryside, only bettered by the Lake district and perhaps some of the more idyllic areas of Scotland. I remember being on top of Snowden and looking down at the valley and the clouds had opened up and bathed the valley in what looked like a veil of gold, was truly stunning.

i have not been since it has had all the marina and development i see has been invested .

i used to go to watch british athletics which was held in cardiff as they had a brand new athletics stadium opposite the old football stadium

brand new state of the art athletics track and a few years after it opened they knocked it down ?

is this where the new cardiff developments have been built ? there was hardly anything there when i used to go
run down on one side of the road where cardiff football ground was and derelict the other side with the athletics track set back .

The fights are mainly in cardiff because of the football season. It's almost impossible to get a fight on in the spring, autumn or winter because there's a game every week on saturday. And even if there wasn't and it was a holiday week, they wouldn't have the time to set it up, and then get it back down again in time for the football. Wembley is occupied by Tottenham Hotspur at the moment, so the premier league season makes it impossible to host a boxing match in every time other than summer.

The klitschko fight last year was able to happen because spurs occupied white hart lane at the time and only played at wembley for the champions league games.

As for something like twickenham, I presume it's a similar story. They have rugby there, so it's difficult. Twickenham should really have been the venue, there must have been a reason why the parker fight didn't happen there.

If you think about it, unless tyson fury is foolish, it won't happen this year. That's because the wilder fight is going to be in the summer if AJ wins, which leaves winter. The football is heavily occupied in the winter. Surely Fury, Joshua and their camps will want that at wembley, so that rules out 2018. Not that anyone ever wanted Fury to fight AJ in 2018 anyways...

reason its in cardiff and not twickenham is because of the closed roof

twickenham being open air a fight on march 31st late at night is too cold

just to check i looked up my tax return book for last year as it was the last week of the tax year easy to find.
i work outdoors so the weather has a big effect on my money and i put down the weather in case i get audited.

    for 24th march i have
freezing strong east wind / bitterly cold
for 31st march i have light rain and cold
1st april there were thunderstorms all morning

im on the river thames coast twickenham weather gets to me about 30 mins later.

I imagine, like many others have said, it's simply due to the problems with hosting fights in London during the football season.

I'm sure Wembley could sell out fine, but you've got spurs playing there with the minute, combined with the fact that Wembley won't have that special feeling if you fight there every time....

Not sure Parker is a big enough name for a wembley bout either in all honesty, pretty undeserving.

You can bet the sheep are nervous in Alabama..............think about it................

Why does Joshua fight in Wales? Perhaps that is where the steroid supplies are located, anyone know?
