Mayweather makes the opponent's supporters buy the fight just to root for guy against Mayweather. It doesn't matter who is the most popular, or who has the most fans. Its all about who gets the most people to hit the order button on the remote.

Mayweather has an argument for getting the lion's share, but I think becasue of the enormous amount of money to be made, they should just do 50/50.

They are the two biggest names in the sport, this is the biggest fight for both of them, and they both stand to make more off of this fight at 50/50 than any other fight at any split. They need each other, so 50/50 is fair.

hsi most recent ppv showed that manny has serious drawing power of his own which is only magnified by the win. Both guys will make more money against each other than they would fighthing anyone else twice and both have a lot to lose.

    get real!

1.05mil floyd vs. jmm, on cinco de mayo right after the big news of floyd returning from retirement.

1.25mil pac vs cotto, on cottos 1st ppv fight.

thats 58/42 in favor of pac. and you guys sit around argue IF pac deserves 50/50? :patsch

pac brings the hordes because of the impossibility and the wow factor in fighting above his weight.

pac-mosley, pac-margo, pac-pw will bring again the hordes as it bring again that same balls to the wall impossible story. while floyd-mosley is what he is supposed to do.

58/42 for pac or **** of floyd and squeeze your remaining popularity dry.

Floyd-marquez didn't happen even remotely close to cinco de mayo.
Cotto also was on a few PPVs prior.

It's about who's in the better position to negotiate.

Mayweather has nowhere else to turn, but to Pac...

    Pac is the only option...

HUH? Cotto had a shitload of PPV fights before this one. Hell 110,000 of those buys came from Puerto Rico alone. I suppose that they were tuning in to see Pac?

Floyd fought a tune-up with a lightweight and nearly matched the numbers Pac and Cotto pulled on a legitimate superfight with a belt on the line.

It's pretty obvious that they are the two biggest draws in boxing respectively and a 50/50 split should hurt no egos and make everyone a lot of money.

Nor does Pac. Any fight other than Mayweather is a let down. How big is a fight with Mosely, whom Cotto already beat? Is there anyone deeply interested in seeing Pac drop down to 140 and fight Bradley? Is he going to go up in weight to 154 and fight Foreman? Would that do 1 million buys?

Pac has exactly one fight left that is BIGGER than the fight he just had, and that's with Mayweather. Legacy and popularity wise, he has nowhere else to go.

At least Mayweather could fight Mosely and people would see him fighting a legitimate welterweight, which no one has seen so far. That would be new. Outside of fighting FMJ everything else Pac does is less interesting than his fight with Cotto.

manny deserves a 50-50 split because, at this time, he is ahead of floyd in the all time greats and hes the current p4p champion. floyd, wether he likes it or not, needs pac more than pac needs floyd because if the fight doesnt happen, years down the line everyone will remember pac as the best of this generation, not floyd, who i personally think is the true p4p champ. so if floyd wants to be remembered as the best fighter of this generation, he needs to swallow his ego and give pac his 50%, which i think is more than fair!!!

Both camps feel confident that they will win if press statements are anything to go by so whats wrong with 60/40 to the winner?
They both need to give the fans what we want cause without us neither would be getting anywhere near the money that they stand to make win or loose.

Easy...he sells better without a big name than Mayweather does. Neither fighter deserves more than half here. Pac already bowed to Hatton for the lion's share before putting him to sleep. He doesn't need to do that anymore.

    i agree.
there are the ultimate bragging rights at stake for this fight that a 50-50 split should be what both fighters should be happy with.

they are both going to make a king's fortune from it anyway and somebody's ego is going to be in cloud nine after the dust settles.

50-50 should be the split of a 60-40 winner take.
