Why does Manny deserve 50/50 split vs. PBF, your best argument?

We should also note that a record number of subscriptions for the fight were made from Puerto Rico! Even though that's his homeland, it does show that Cotto is a crowd puller aswell!

. . . let's make it short . . . the man on the top of the chain is Pacquiao. Mayweather will never be #1 p4p again if he won't fight Pac . . . not unless Pac retires early.

So invert the question why does Floyd deserve a 50/50 split with the man on top.

he deserves 50/50 because without him neither would make the huge payday that they would if they fight each other. a 50\50 split for mayweather if he fights pac would equal a 70/30 split with anyone else. money shouldnt even be a factor, if he had the slightest amount of pride he would fight him for 50/50 no problem.

I say 50-50 and I take this into account :

Mayweather has the richest fight in the history of the sport and you certainly can't take that away from him. With that said, we need to see the broader picture and understand logically why Mayweather up to this point would always have done better than Pacquiao with PPV when comparing with common opponents:

-Mayweather was the hottest commodity at the time of the Hoya bout and he's been surfing off that wave since, although it is diminishing and will continue unless he gets himself a top notch dance partner.

-What makes the difference between 500 000 buys and a possible 1.5 million + buys, is that the casual part-time boxing fan is strongly conditioned and enticed towards buying a fight that is heavily put in his face by a huge promotional backing.

-We also know that good fights in higher weight classes generally will attract more of the casual part-time fans. That's why today, if there was a bobbin' and weavin' Mike Tyson version, facing a few legit dance partners and with the same promotional tools, he would make the Mayweather and Pacquiao figures almost insignificant compared to his.

-It's not fair for Pacquaio to compare his figures to Mayweather's against JMM, because Pacquiao fought him without the huge promotional tools Mayweather did and he also fought him at 130. Like I said, it's a fact that the lower the weight class, the less you will attract the part-time casual fans willing to dish out their money.

-Mayweather deserves all the credit for drawing more in the Hatton fight than Pacquiao did. Nevertheless, let's keep in mind that Pacquiao is not American, he's not fluent in English and he was just starting to move up in the bigger weight classes as opposed to Mayweather whom already had stabilized himself over 135 for at least a couple years....

-There's no way Pacquiao could have generated against Hoya anywhere close to what Mayweather did for the reasons mentioned above and the fact that, that particular fight was made at possibly the worst economic time since the great depression and wasn't considered very competitive form the get go.

Now that he's at 147 and starting to be known from the every day ''Joes and Janes'' Pacquiao will only generate more than Mayweather if he is marketed better than Mayweather to the American public.

Now they are truly on common ground and you can start comparing their PPV figures on an equal and fair basis.

there are 2 sides to boxing.... BOXING and MONEY!!

PACQUIAO IS BRINGING THE #1 STATUS AND THE BELTS

    MAYWEATHER IS BRINGING THE MONEY!!!!

if pac fought mosley or williams or whoever, he wouldnt make nearly as much as he would against floyd!!!

What fight did Pac sell well without a big name? In fact, with the same big names (DLH,HATTON and Marquez) PBF did better numbers.

Floyd should pay money to fight Manny Pacquiao. Fraud Mayweather has been a welterweight for longer than Saddam Hussein has been dead, yet hasn't fought ANY top welterweights.

He has opted instead to fight a JWW Hatton and an old LW Marquez. Fraud is pathetic, his career is a joke, and his fans are ******s that don't know **** about boxing.

Floyd should get more because most people are paying to see him get the **** kicked out of him by little karaoke singing Filipino!

But as much as I woud like this to happen, and as much as I hate Floyds boring style and boring personaliy, he is simply the best boxer in the world.

He would school Pacman. I would love it if I were wrong. But I'm not. I think he should beat up Yuri Foreman, and be a 8 weight world champion.

50/50 is fair. If they want more then do a 55/45 for winner/looser that is completely fair. And make it at 147, Pac has a ****ing welterweight belt so defend it at ****ing welterweight limit.

Would it have made any difference if Cotto came in at 147? No it wouldnt have, so if it makes no difference then just cut the bull**** out already.
