I held no favorites between the two. Actually a fan of both.

I though Barrera clearly lost the fight. Sure he got robbed of a knock down, but he sure as hell deserved the point deduction. 2 point swing wasn't enough for him to win the fight, anyhow.

Marquez clearly won, he was the aggressor, landed the better shots with both hands, all Barrera did was back pedal and look for counter left hooks. It wasn't even that close

I can remember over 15 threads about this, every now and then you get people who actually think Barrera won, Marquez won that one imo, clearly, I remember a friend telling me Barrera got robbed, so I watched the fight expecting a Marquez schooling by Barrera, also gong by how Marquez ended up looking after the fight, instead I saw Marquez clearly out pointing Barrera, plus you have to count the punch while down against Barrera, so that would even out that round. The knockdown argument is useless when we all saw how Barrera tell Marquez "F*** y**O" in spanish, then punches him while Marquez is down, in Boxing that's a point deduction at least.

I had Marquez winning that fight, even without the KD, as did most people, though it was close. It does not compare to what took place on the night of JMM-Pac 3.

thats because as soon as barrera knocked him down he went straight for him and hit him on the floor. Marquez could have pulled a dirrell (known then as a griffin) and laid down but he got back up and finished the fight

I had Marquez edging it but i dont care who won, Barrera and Marquez are two of my favourite fighters
