TMT is a fake promotion. Duckweather pays GBP to promote his fights.

    Because it's too much work.

If Floyd becomes a promoter, he'll spend less time training and more time handling every aspect of the event. In a word...a giant distraction.

Getting a boxing license isn't easy. You can only get it in one state at a time. And you have to manage EVERYTHING. They have to pay travel expenses for judges, refs and officials. They have to handle all medical related stuff, from getting Physicians to medical staff for every event. The promoter also have to negotiate time slots, which are super competitive and limited and they also have to find sites for events.

And then there are taxes, insurances and appearances at every event. There's a lot more I'm not even mentioning. A boxing promotion license is a big responsibility.

I don't know how true it is that it's not an official promotion, but if not, now would be the time to upgrade.

but if floyd gets a promotional license, then he wouldn't need haymon.

in other words, floyd wouldn't need haymon to negotiate with TMT for floyd's guaranteed purse.

he'd rather spend his money for Nicki Minaj than paying dues for getting a license

haymon is the reason floyd is in the position he is in. floyd wouldn't have a clue about negotiations and what to negotiate for. that's what al is for.

i have a feeling that floyd will maintain a working relationship with gbp because he signed a deal with the devil when he signed to fight dlh. as for haymons other fighters....not sure they remain under gbp's banner.

Will Void promote his rematch with the woman he beat? Void did not use gloves, was bare knuckle, but the woman had to use 24 oz. gloves............

I thought his company was just a tax vehicle. It has never needed to promote because he always had Golden Boy for that, who has the expertise, the manpower and the connections. Basically, Floyd's not in the promotion business.

I believe he just paid GBP a flat fee (around $3 million) to handle the promotional aspects. His stable isn't that good and two of the top prospects (Love and Bey) were popped for illegal drugs. I don't see Mayweather, even in retirement, wanting to do the hard work that comes with promoting. Maybe he puts his puppet Ellerbe in charge and is sort of like Oscar has been with Golden Boy.

I doubt it's that hard to get a license. The question would be how effective he would be at the job.

    Actually they do.:deal

Showtime and GBP get the crumbs left at the table when it comes to floyd fights.

    Haha this had me dying.

As for this mayweather could get a license and have one of his lackeys run it but he doesn't have the money, nor does he want to take the risk, to do it.
