Why does no one ever talk about Juan Manuel Marquez is a one dimensional fighter?

    It's simple.

ATGs don't lose to Freddie Norwood, or Chris John, in their primes.

Marquez was a very good fighter with an ATGs number.

    Exactly.
All of Pac and JMM's fights were extremely close fights to call.
Even the last fight prior to the KO was a toss up.
And here are these idiots always saying that JMM "schooled" Pacquiao from round 1 to 42.
Pacquiao has knocked JMM down a total of 5 times in those fights. Bloodied him each time. Made JMM's face red and puffy each time. Heck pummeled JMM so hard the latter walked to the wrong corner after the bell rang.
What Pacquiao did to Thurman, now that is "schooling".

While we're at it, since people like to bring JMM "beating" Pac 4-0 we have: Bernard Hopkins losing twice to Jermain Taylor, Alexis Arguello losing twice to Aaron Pryor, Larry Holmes losing twice to Michael Spinks, and Ruben Olivares losing twice to Rafael Herrera. Both their losses were never avenged. And yet you don't see the guys that beat them ranked higher than Hopkins, Arguello, Holmes, or Olivares.

I'm simply stating that both are ATG, and that JMM was a better champion in certain divisions, and while Pac is arguably a better ATG because of his accolades, his career was carefully orchestrated.

One example of this is his run through lightweight. He literally fought the worst champion there in David Diaz. David Diaz had gotten a gift from a shot to pieces Erik Morales to become WBC LW Titlist.

-Pac lost to a shot Morales
-Pac's run at LW = a farce (Orchestrated) Didn't bother facing any of the "real" champs
-Pac was gifted a W against JMM in 2008 and 2011 and the got KTFO in 2012
-Pac won a JrMW title at 150 against unranked fighter Anotnio Margarito who was shot by that time. Another farce title capture.
-Pac drained Miguel Cotto as well
    -Pac was dominated by Mayweather

Don't take me wrong, Pacquiao is a special fighter, he is gifted, but his avoidance of random testing puts asterisks over his career, and when you consider all the catchweights, and how he didn't face real champions at LW and JrMW.

    Orchestrated career by Arum.

You're literally just nitpicking his resume, which anyone can do. You can pick apart any ATGs resume and claim that their careers were carefully orchestrated. If that's the case then I'll play along. If you want carefully orchestrated career then I can say the same about Sugar Ray Leonard.
-Leonard lost to a blown up LW in Duran
-Leonard demanded an instant rematch with Duran, having Duran lose an extra amount of weight in short notice and giving Leonard advantages such as the ring size.
-Wanted no part of Hagler and waited him out after he went through tough fights with Hearns and Mugabi and only came out of retirement after he saw that Hagler was slowing down. He was still gifted a win against Hagler even though Hagler was the champion
-Fought Lalonde for a title at TWO different weights. This was the fight that was a total joke. Ray was allowed to fight for the 175 pound title against a champion who had to go down to 168 to fight for that vacant title at 168- and neither guy was ranked at 168. So he weakened the 175 pound titlist (Lalonde) and fought for that title and for the 168 pound title where neither guy was ranked.
-Was gifted a draw in the rematch against Hearns
-Got schooled by glass chin Norris, who Leonard was favored to beat
-Got KO'd by feather puncher Camacho, who is a blown up LW.

As you can some of these fights were made with Leonard's demands since he was the media darling. If you wanna go down that road I guess you can say Leonard has pretty much carefully orchestrated his own career.

But that doesn't make Leonard less of an ATG, he is still one of the best fighters all time.

Again, a judge is NOT (key word: NOT) required to score the round 10-6. The judge stated he wasn't aware that he could score it 10-6, but again, he was NOT required to do so, that's the very reason why it wasn't changed.

Regardless, Pac benefited from favorable scores. There is no way you can give him more than three rounds in the first fight.

You wanna talk about avoidance of drug testing when Pacquiao has by far been the most tested boxer of his era? You wanna talk about PED suspicion without mentioning Number #1 Juicer In History Marquez?

How many times has Marquez been VADA tested?

    The hate is unreal.

But then Canelo got popped for being dirty TWICE and you still think the guy is clean.

Pac's team accusing JMM of roiding:

JMM's response: I'll take any test Pacquiao takes

    Pac's response: *crickets *crickets

    CLASSIC!!!

    lmao!!

Steroid acne. HGH gut. The question isn't what PEDs Marquez needed and took to beat Pacquiao — it's what he didn't take. Guy pumped himself with 99% of available PEDs in the world. Only Canelo matches him for drug use.

The thing is that many people do see Leonard's career as carefully orchestrated. Many see Leonard's career as the blueprint that many boxers started following after, DelaHoya, Mayweather, Canelo. I think they are all great fighters, but I certainly think their promoters, matchmakers, lawyers, managers etc. were thoughtful on who to match them with, stipulations, and when. I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing as they are looking out for the best interest of the fighters and they certainly had successful careers and are definitely ATGs. However that style leaves a lot of question marks on fairness and who would have won on an even playing field. I just see it as strategy and Pacquiao benefited from it as well. No complaints on my part.

I think Marquez is still an ATG despite those losses. Pacquiao is an ATG despite loses to Torrecampo, Sangsurat, and Horn.

And yet we almost never here those fights being brought up except for GGG Canelo. I hear people talking about Norton and Ali occasionally and how they robbed Norton and what not.

But the Marquez getting robbed stuff just wont die. It wasnt even a robbery.

I chalk it up to recency bias. But then the first fight was 15 years ago. So its not even that recent.

What gives? Where does the obsession of these fights scorecards come from.
