Why does no trainer teach to take a knee?

It is so underrated to simply take a knee after you got hit with massiv shot and you are feeling dizzy. Usually the situation is only going to get worse because you’re not capable of defending yourself properly and your opponent will probably land a punch that is even worse than the first one that hit you. It is so easy to just take a knee and regroup yourself for 10 seconds it also slows down the momentum of your opponent.

When your legs are gone sometimes it's easier to ride out the storm than take a knee reset and recoup.

If you get confused mentally when hurt then you're not going to take a knee, you might somehow survive on survival instincts.

See with Ortiz how hard it is for him to get up after he goes down. Them old man legs.

Alot of fighters do stupid **** when they get hurt. They have no ideahow to survive. Nobody should trade when they are hurt. They should tieup or like you said take a knee.

Do you box? If so have you ever been hurt in the ring?

It’s easy to say “he should take a knee in there and regroup”. Good luck trying that when your adrenaline is in overdrive, your brain has been scrambled by a concussive punch and you have more punches raining down on you from your opponent.

It’s not easy to think on your feet like that.

If a boxer is hurt from, say, a body shot then yeah it’s a fair argument that he should have the awareness to take a knee.

yes i boxed and I am very good at survival because I know that I am hurt and will not swing it out with the other guy or start acting as a punching bag. Grab, take a knee what ever but dont just stand there.

wlodarcyk took a very clever knee in his fight with chakiev because he knew that he could not with stand the pressure of chakiev. Turned out to be his best decision in the ring.

My trainer has spent sometimes hours with me where he doesn't even let me get off of my knees even.

Seems pretty dangerous to do when your opponent is on the attack. The fighter would be left open for a massive shot plus a couple borederline late blows that probably won't be penalized due to the randomness of the kneel
