IMO, there is no good reason for them not having fought yet. I thought that they probably would have made negotiations to fight after the Gvodzyk fight, but that was already 2 years ago.
They shouldn't fight and waste each other, they are both Russian/Asian. They should fight Western fighters and those will be interesting bouts. I hope someday in the future all divisions will be reigned by eastern boxers.
Unfortunately it always comes down to boxing politics. Bivol is now being steered towards a showdown with Zurdo because surprise, surprise he is fellow DAZN fighter.
They get a free pass as they are waiting for a Canelo “PeyDey … Ju Whant PeyDey!” str8 out of the GGG playbook.
I would like to see this fight more than anything, but since they are both from Russia its a high risk low reward fight
Because they're too many eastern european fanboys here who want to protect their favourite fighters at all costs.
I don't think Bivol wants it tbh. Beterbiev has been ducked and dodged for good reason. Any time you're wondering who is ducking a fight, look at the undefeated threats each fighter has taken out. The Gvodzyk win gives Beterbeef the credit, and that's all that we can assume for now. A few years ago I'd have picked Artur by murder if Canelo fancied himself against either of them. Now I think Bivol may have the better shot.
Although I agree, why aren't the top yank lightweights fighting each other. The same for Spence Vs Crawford. Charlo Vs Andrade. Etc etc etc
Yeah that would be interessting...but the match up i want more is; Joe Smith against Beterbiev, because we already know that Bivol beat Joe in there bout like 2years ago(can't remember). So we can gage if Arthur have more skills and power than Bivol. This fight is very risky for both men,That why i want to see it, it's a 50/50 match. That is boxing that i want to see more often.
They both became LHW champs in November 2017. Its been four years and they still haven't fought each other.
