Isn't Oscar supposedly past his prime? Why so much hate for fighting Forbes? How many tune ups does Oscar take?

Many other boxers in their prime have faced crappy opponents.

I mean even Mayweather has had his Shares of crap fights. He fought Gatti, Bruseles, and also fought guys coming off losses like Judah, Mitchell, and Corley. That's that PBF is prime!

I think it boils down to hate and jealousy.

I got no problem with Oscar fighting Forbes. What I do have a problem with is guys like Winky and Floyd etc calling oscar out and acting like a win over him means anything at this point. What I really have a problem with is fans paying to see these **** fights.

I don't understand why people Hate on Oscar. I don't see how he is 'ruining' the sport how a lot of people here claim either. Golden Boy Promotions hosts almost nothing but good fights.....**** Don King.

Those guys call him out simply for a big pay day.

I see nothing wrong with this fight for Oscar - but if he's not careful - Forbes can mess things up for him. Remember Forbes and Gomez both fought at a high weight class for the Contender Series - which may be helping them when it comes to fighting guys around their own size.

He should get grief, steve forbes is super small so it's not that he's taking a tune up, its the fact that his tune up is against such a smaller weaker fighter. its like Bernard at light heavy weight taking a tune up against a small middleweight. Dela Hoya is trash and needs to seriously hang them up or go after fights that make sense not a rematch against a PBF who easily beat him the 1st time and will have an even easier time this time around.

People are frustrated with Oscar because he is the main reason PBF isn't fighting Cotto. And because it doesn't appear that Oscar has any interest in seriously competing for a belt, only to generate monstrously huge ppv sales. He used to be a super-competitive boxer and now is only a super-competitive entertainment empire. If he was still competing at a weight class, 147 or 154, and challenging contenders and champions, people would not have lost so much respect for him. Or at least I wouldn't have. Fight Forrest, fight Cotto, whoever, but do it like other boxers have to, as a challenger for a belt. Don't become the PT Barnum of boxing.

Your B-Hop comparison is GARBAGE - considering that he spent most of his career as a MIDDLEWEIGHT.

Forbes is smaller than Oscar - but on the Contender - he was fighting with K9 and the rest of them - who figth around 154-160 - and Steve was holding his own.

Oscar is looking to fight someone that has the size and speed of Mayweather - who you must have forgotten isn't a big Welterweight himself.

Your answer is the reason for the question posted in this Thread. You're just hating for no reason. And this is how you used your first post - but I doubt if you'r actually new - probably just a recycled User.

See - this is a good arguement - without the bias or hate. :good

Definitely not new, and I'm definitely not hating for no reason, my reason is valid this is a waste of time and he should take a true tune up but the last time he did that he really lost(felix sturm) although they found a way to give it to the most popular face in boxing. Forbes is no where near the hand speed level of a PBF. From a true fan of the sport(I have been watching and studying the sport for over 20yrs) Dela Hoya should be ashamed of him self for this fight.

Okay, so let me get this straight. Your saying that Oscar who is way past his prime, who lost to his last Tune-Up, and who has one win in his last 5 fights should not have a tune-up against an easy opponent that he can beat?

You my friend are defitnately hating.:yep
