Anytime hes near this guy, its close and competetive... some people think Marquez won at least one of their fights, why is it Mayweather simply outclassed him effortlessly?

Because Marquez is really ****ing good? Elite, actually?

JMM was far above his optimal effective weight against Mayweather.

The same will be true with the rubbermatch being at so high a contracted weight.

I am hoping it doesn't go down this way, but in all honesty Pacquiao should dominate. Marquez shouldn't be doing anything in a boxing ring against anybody weighing in at one hundred and forty anything.

The reason Marquez looked bad against Mayweather isn't weight, it's style. Marquez was a counterpuncher fighting a faster, longer, better counterpuncher.

Marquez knows he can depend on Manny to come in firing shots from all angles and staying in the danger zone for return combos. And unlike many of Manny's other opponents, Marquez has the guts and chin to stand toe-to-toe with Manny and the counterpunching skills to land clean punches.

Styles makes fights. Pac was still somewhat one-dimensional when he fought JMM. JMM is an excellent counterpuncher who counters in bunches. JMM also is slightly taller with longer reach. JMM's style is perfect for fighting Pac. Pac would rush in, JMM would take a step back and counter in bunches matching Pac punch for punch and if wasn't for Pac's numerous knockdowns on JMM, he would have lost both fights convincingly as JMM won more rounds and landed more punches. Erik Morales used JMM's blueprint to beat Pac, a style Erik normally doesn't use but executed to perfection against Pac.

Floyd is also a counterpuncher like JMM, but taller, quicker, much longer reach, great footwork, much more athletic. JMM is flat footed and doesn't move his head. All Floyd really needed to do to beat JMM was jab him from distance as JMM has no footwork to close the distance.

After November the question will be changed to 'did' not 'do'.
Pac will most likely stop JMM late on accumulation.

...but less talent, which is why they've been evenly matched in the past at lower weights.

Now Pacquiao's skills have improved while Marquez's existing talents have eroded.

Add in the extra bulk, which he doesn't wear anywhere near as well as Pacquiao - and I honestly don't see this excursion above 140 going any better for Dinamita than his last one. :verysad

Pac throws a lot of punches and Marquez loves that.

    Counter Puncher > Slugger

Counter Puncher = Slugger w/ speed, power.

Counter Puncher < Slugger w/ speed, power on both hands, movements.
