Paulie is a jabroni. He got butthurt when Broner claimed he didn't train hard for Paulie yet he talks the same crap. He comes across as a "tell it like it is" ... but only when it is to his advantage. Like when he lost and talked corruption and which judges were in Golden Boys pocket. He is phony as f*ck... even if he does make good points once in a while.
Malignaggi is complete garbage and has never beaten a good boxer in his life. a paper champion holding onto worthless belts over worthless opponents and nothing more
His opinions on Mayweather and Pacquiao each haven't changed over the last 5 years. His opinions and his willingness to discuss them have been the same well before he was a Showtime announcer, so I think saying he is spewing a "corporate agenda" is just a case of fans not having followed Paulie and what he says before in the past.
Surprised people are spitting on Malignaggi, sure he half talks some ****, but.... that is part of the game, no? He's took on quality fighters and always tried to stick in there, he showed great heart vs. Cotto.
Not "super special" but if you don't think a fighter deserves credit for doing what Paulie did to him in both their fights, even up at 140 rather than Diaz's 135, than I think I am the one who should be saying "wow." Paulie has made a good career of himself. Senchenko, Ndou, Ngodju (or whatever it is), plus all of his valiant defeats to the A-listers... All that adds up. He is quality. More proven against top competition than a lot of the fighters being talked highly of at WW at this moment; Thurman, Brook, etc.
As a sparring partner you are there for a purpose. You are asked to fight in a style similar to an opponent that another fighter has because you are there to help THEM. Sure, you are getting sparring rounds in, but not in a manner that is designed to benefit you. There is no similarity that can be drawn really between pac and paulie. Pac was not Porter's sparring partner... you know? Porter was on the payroll and was rotated out for fresh fighters. I have to agree that the sparring he did with Pac was not really relevant in his fight with Paulie. At no time would roach have said something like "Go in there and hip toss and mug my fighter with ripping shots" That's not what sparring is for. Porter won that fight because of his youthful strength and varied fighting style. Not to mention his faster than Paulie jab coupled with great punching variation and footwork. Porter did great and will be great going forward. I can't wait to see him in his next outing even, I just do not think that it was his time spent in the gym with Pac that made him what he is though.
I agree with some that say Malinaggi in a way kinda looks up to Mayweather for whatever reason even in his other interview Malinaggi was like im a businessman and this is prizefighter and how Thurman is a dummy in the same fashion Floyd said this to Mosley. Pacquiao is pretty hard to hate (his fans aside) lol
And yet again he's still talking more mad sh#t towards an ATG. Paulie is merely a fly compared to Pacquiao, always buzzing about him. I don't think Pac even knows or cares about Paulie's opinion.
