Why did the Wbc give Porter 2 mandatories? He has to fight Thurman and Berto. Thurman i understand because he had to vacate the belt. Berto has lost 5 of last 10 fights and already got beat by Porter. Berto gets more opportunities than Trout. Berto keeps getting 7 figure paydays and he's not that good.
Cause he's one of the privileged welterweights who keep getting undeserved shots. It should really be someone like Kavaliauskas, Abduqaxorov, Lejarraga, Besputin
Berto beat Alexander. Both were former WBC champions=inflated ranking for winner and mandatory shot. Berto is currently ranked at number 7 by the WBC so i'm not sure why he gets a title shot. Thurman is mandated because he had to forfeit the title due to injuries. Edit: it appears that Haymon paid off the WBC and wants to keep it "in house."
What's also bizarre is that Van Heerdan and Brad Solomon are the finalists in the Jose Sulaimon tournament but aren't even ranked very highly right now.
Berto and Broner must suck the skin off Haymon's bone to get all these shots and unwarranted paydays. Maybe thats why Thurman is acting flaky? Maybe he wants his contract to expire and he can bounce because Andre and Adrien are Gods favorites over at PBC.
Spence is ducking that fight like the plague. I guess he isn't as tough as they make him out to be. My moneys on Crawford to single handedly wipe out the entire PBC 147 roster.
For an easy path to 49-0? No, he already has losses. For a shot at Floyd? No, Berto hasn't been Floyd's gatekeeper for many years and Floyd has since retired. Can't think of any reason beyond that.
