Sergio, had to take the last fight on very short notice at 160, I am suprised he is letting Paul get this catchweight.
I know i mean it's not like Williams didn't take the first fight on a very short notice. Only Martinez right? Freaking esb dumb posters. Not everybody but most here.
Williams always get his way and he expects it! Williams wants his personal judges once again, the ref, and he wants Goosen's doctors to hold Martinez down after he pushes him out of the ring! It is Williams who is the taller of the two and he wants lighter weight? Martinez should demand that the fight be in his home town with his judges for a change!
Jesus ****, you guys should pay attention more. Martinez offered a shot at the MW title to Angulo for 750k and a catchweight of 155. You don't think Williams would pay attention to that and use that for leverage? It's incredibly, INCREDIBLY obviously linked. Williams has a W after his fight with Martinez and it makes sense that he would try and get a catchweight himself. This isn't going to affect either of them, if they both agree to fight a few pounds under the weight class limit, then quit crying and let the guys fight.
williams really did have to go the extra mile, not only in the gym but also the kitchen, to get to the mw limit. and while williams rightly points out that he took the first martinez fight on short notice after preparing for kelly pavlik, its also true that martinez took the fight on short notice after a comparable layoff to paul. now sergio had an entire camp to prepare for kelly and to be a mw and he looked great. i'm sure williams team was surprised the first time around at sergio and then looked at the way he carried and handled the weight in his next fight against kelly and thought that martinez is turning into a solid, true mw. williams camp probably thinks their optimal weight is more around the jmw limit moreso than the mw limit and want to get down as close to it as martinez would go. again, no surprise there. and again, thats not a defense of the catchweight stuff b/c i'm not a fan of it either...just an observation.
What?! That's bull if true. The last fight was 160 and what a great set of 12 rounds that was. Settle the score where you started.
The thread is about PWill and Maravilla, NOT Pacquiao, NOT Mayweather, NOT anyone but PWill and Maravilla. Go ahead and sit this one out while the adults discuss boxing, okay?
