Of course. Boxing is all about asserting your dominance or game plan as most call it. If two fighters are equal in every way but one is bigger than of course the bigger guy will win but boxing is literally never like that because a big man doesn't fight the same way a small guy does and vice versa. Body mechanics change as a fighter gets to the higher weights. It is why the punch count tends to decrease as the weight increases.

A professor once told me, weight increases 10-20 per inch this why taller guys weigh more. Also testosterone is equated with height- the level of testosterone in farmer isn't as high as miner.

A bigger fighter has longer feet! A size 12 vs a size 10 is 2 inches added to reach.
Secondly a bigger would have bigger hands covering more surface.

I've read in several places (citations available) that for every inch taller a fighter is, he also adds an inch to his height.

I heard that if you film a 6"6 guy in a 1910 camera, he will become 5"5.

    You have averages.

But most fighters are case by case.

Alexis Arguello is not bigger than Marciano despite being maybe 1/2 inch taller and having more reach.

Seems logical.Of course certain fighter of the past, should they have been around in modern times would be 6 inches taller and 50lbs heavier, especially if they were of Italian extraction.

It's pretty stupid to not recognize that fighters of the old school era trained down in weight.
