I never said Tyson was anything, you do a lot of speculating with no facts to back it up. I said for all we know Tyson could be 10lbs heavier in the ring than he was at the weigh-in.

Dempsey would have two choices, bulk up to be a heavyweight or cut down to make light-heavyweight. He would almost certainly choose the latter because he'd still be a small heavyweight no matter how much he bulked up. Fighting today's skilled giants or being a monster in today's hot light-heavyweight division??? I know route what him and his team would go down.....

How close??? Even if he put on 10lb that would make him 230lb. So to make cruiserweight he would have to weigh in 30lb less than he did theoretically weigh 230lb on fight night.

sounds like your doing a lot of speculation yourself right there. what facts do you have to back that up?

At most Tyson got like 5 lbs after the weigh in, belly full of food.

    But where are the facts?

I used the career of Orlin Norris. His 70" reach and 5'10" height made him a smaller man than Jack Dempsey. He weighed 183 or 220 when ever it suited him. Cruiser for one fight, HW for the next and visa-versa. As big as 240 and back to 189. All before 24 hour weigh in too.

    Why wasn't Norris a LHW?

Ask him why he wasn't a LHW????

Dempsey I believe today would have gone down the LH route instead of the HW division as he would be a much bigger force and also because LH is a hot division at this moment in time.

Superheavyweight is not a hot division and never will be.

I don't need to. I know the answer. In Orlin Norris day you could be any weight you wanted. The advances in modern weight gaining technology was already there.

Why didn't he fight in every division then and become the first fighter to win in every weight class....

proberbly because orlin wasnt that great of a fighter but his weight throughout his career is a sturdy document of what was physically achievable.
