I still stand by my statement, Dempsey would likely be a light-heavyweight if he was around today....

There's no real evidence to support it.

You're disappointing me, especially as you like to go on about the 24 hour weigh-in. Dempsey could easily make 175lb in this day and age could he not??

Technically it's feasible. However where is the evidence of an ATG heavyweight under 200 who knocked out 240 guys wanting to compete at a lower weight than HW?

You are talking about a fantasy world pal. Dempsey wouldn't be a heavyweight now being less than 200lb....

The way Choklab classes those weighing 220 on fight night as cruiserweights due to a 20 pound rehydration, it stands to reason he must also class Marciano and Dempsey as LHW or even SMW fighters.

It's as though he's in the ring weighing these fighters on the night.....

He proberbly do what Orlin Norris did then? Or Tommy Morrison, or Chris Bryd, or James Toney, or Michael Moorer, or Evander Holyfeild or any other HW who was bellow 200 as an amateur and built up into the pros..

Well if they stepped out of the time machine as they were then they are what is cruiserweight now but I think that class should be called Heavyweight. And in that form they would be somewhat of a disadvantage in that they would come across 220 hydrated cruisers but Not SHW 240 pounders since those guys are called Heavyweight. So I think Jack and Rock would fare pretty darn well against Tony Bellew and Marco Huck.

Like I say it's feasible but why bother? Even now if an exceptional 180 kid can knock out 220 guys in the gym most trainers will want to build him into a manufactured HW. You dont think those guys knocked out enough 220 plus guys in the gym?
