I remember Sugar Ray being not being good during some sprint.

He didn't even do a proper start with the hands on the ground.

I have no idea how your minds working on this. I'll say it again:

What are "slow feet"in boxing ? In the ring, it's just a style or an aptitude for a certain style, it's about co-ordination. It has absolutely nothing to do with running fast. It has nothing to do with sprint power output.
Boxers simply do not activate their sprint motor at all when they are traversing the ring.

    Fred Astaire had fast feet.
Gary Mason was a plodding heavyweight.
That doesn't mean Fred Astaire's going to beat him in a sprint.

This is sort of related to the Marciano thread where it was suggested that it would be advantageous for Marciano to drain down to light heavy and rehydrate for fight night because he would dodge the bigger fighters, which got me thinking.

Are there any examples of fighters that people can think of who have done this. ie Tried to fight at heavyweight, found out they couldnt cut it there and then decided to cut weight and become successful at the lighter weight. Recently the only guys i can think of is Chris Byrd, who went down to light heavy against what you would assume was an easier fighter than those he competed against at heaby, in Shaun George and he was knocked out. Likewise, Roy Jones Jr dropped to Tarver, presumably an easier opponent and was ultimately stopped (admittedly he got old but it sure was quick). Plenty of lighter fighters go up in weight at the end of their career, usually with mixed results which is probably due more to their age than the weight of them or their opponents, such as Duran, Hearns, etc. Hopkins is a good one. He lost at middleweight to Taylor and then went and competed for years against the best light heavyweights. Jimmy Braddock is another one who was more successful at higher weights, as was Sam Langford. Tunney had more trouble with the likes of Greb than the heavys he faced and Greb seemed to have as many losses agaisnt the class (but smaller) fighters like Gibbons brothers than with any of the very good heavys he fought.

What i am looking for is someone who couldnt beat the bigger guys but still had a very succesful career at a lighter weight. Bob Foster is the only one i can think of.

    Are there any others?

The past had quite some heavies dropping to cruiser when they got the chance and the division was new.
    Like Johny Nelson.

But these days almost all fighters start as low as they can, so they can only move up.
Beibut Shumenov for example walks around at 230 pounds, and had to drain a tremendous amount of weight for 175.

But recently USS Cunningham went from cruiser to heavy back to cruiser.
Lateef Kayode also went from cruiser to heavy back to cruiser.

Senad Gashi may become a cruiser but he's fighting at heavyweight right now.
    210-220 pounds 6'0.5

I don't think anybody has suggested that Marciano would start at heavyweight and then cut weight.

Im sure RJJ would have lost had he fought more fights other than Ruiz, yet was successful at a lighter weight..The proposed Lewis and Tyson fight would not have went so good for him. Qawi against Foreman didnt go so good for him either at Hw ,though he held his own, before he was just over matched.

Now your just taking everything out of context,a highly trained athlete who does any type of running is going to be quick in the ring ,thats about all there is to it.

Not all boxers are athletes in the sense of being all around fast athletes ,joggin dont count . Joshua being a former track and field star isn't in any way near slow footed ,that has got to be one of the biggest misconceptions today .

Anthony Joshua talking about how he cannot move like Muhammad Ali:

He's being hard on himself. You just can't move like Ali with that body.
The day someone does, I will be flummoxed!
