Why does Taylor get hated and others don't?

Let's put this into perspective. Taylor has dominated everyone except Hopkins, Wright and Spinks!

What is the problem with having a close 7-5 either way fight with two top3 P4P fighters? Isn't it worse for X and Wright to have been having the close fight giving their experience?

I see one really embarrassing fight - Cory Spinks! He should have put the pain on Spinks. Muscled him and blown him away. IF Spinks survived the punishment then he should have been punished for 12 rounds.

He fought X again and ultimately 5 out of 6 judges perfer him. There is nothing else he can do with X.

He offered Wright out but Wright is an awful businessman and it didn't want none - yet no one really talks about this.

I'm not a huge Taylor fan but I respect him alot.

Even against Ouma he was trying to bomb him out for YOUR pleasure. Its the fans and critics who slated him so he was trying to put on a show for his people. He still dominated him. Ouma was open for everything WE thought he would. He got caught with everything WE thought he would. Taylor was thinking just like us. SOMEHOW Oumas chin became awesome and took RIDICULOUS shots.

One bad fight doesn't end a man.

    He gets too much ****...

Who has looked good against Hopkins and Wright? He held is own against both of them - no fight was a gift in my opinion.

You definitley something spot on here Achilles and that is that the Taylor bouts for Hopkins and Wright do make them both look bad.;)

Pavlik, a very average fighter all in all, will put this into perspective tonight, at the expense of becoming a new overrated fighter himself, but an expense that is at this point well worth it.

Who happened to be the only actually good opponents he ever fought.

But prior to that he looked awesome against legends like Freddy Cuevas, William Joppy and Daniel Edouard. With wins like that we should cut him some slack. Its not his fault he looked horrible when he actually stepped up in competition.

    CHEEKBONES FTW!

    exactly what i´m thinking.

were taylor german, they would be praising his skills and naming schools and streets after him!!!

and had the fights vs hopkins and winky taken place in germany, taylor would have won wide UD´s in both cases!!

guys like felix sturm are still respected dispite getting ko´d by 40 year old jr. middleweights like javier castillejo.
all everyone remembers is sturms debatable loss to oscar, dispite the fact that oscar was out of shape and NO MIDDLEWEIGHT to start with!!!

i just cant understand guys hating on taylor. he is not a bad guy and even if you think he was lucky a bit vs hopkins, how many guys do you know can put in 24 rounds with hopkins and come out alive???

let alone, making it a close fight!!!

but the boxing community is a strange breed indeed.:-(

I don't dislike Taylor at all. Infact I threw a little party down in Son Brul when I heard that Taylor decisioned Hopkins the first time.

But I'm not gonna make dumb comments like he's super fast or he has alot of power. I know how he beat Hopkins. He did so with heart. He's a good sized middleweight with good handspeed, poor footwork and average stamina. I think he can also be rocked but hasn't been in with a big puncher yet.

So that is my 2 cents on the subject. Either way if he does pull it off against Pavlik it won't be that he outboxed him or outsped him. It'll be that he won on heart.

I think Keith Allen and Antwhun Echols are still breathing after being in the ring several times with the snaggle toothed killing machine that is Hopkins.

too many people are on JT's case with little to no amunition to fire any real shots at him. It's just blind hate they are working with.

Taylor does not get enough credit in my opinion, I mean he could have took the easy way out and fought a patsy after fighting two hard fight with Hopkins. But no he takes on Winky Wright maybe the most avoided fighter (at the time) in boxng, then he take on two good boxers in Ouma and Spinks. I don't think he should have taken the SPinks fight, who is a stylistic nightmare for almost any fighter, also due to SPinks and Taylors friendships in the amatuers I knew Taylor would not go in for the kill if he did have SPinks hurt. And now he is fighting the most feared 160 lb fighter, he never takes easy fights.

I agree completely. With that said, I think Pavlik is gonna win because he's better.
