I never used to be a big JT fan and have said negative things about him, but as time passed by, I became more of a fan and don't understand why he gets so much **** on here.

with only 30 fights, he's already fought the likes of Pavlik x2, Hopkins 2x, Wright, Spinks, Ouma,

this guy ****ing fought (and beat) Hopkins with only 23 fights...23 fights! whether or not you feel he beat Hopkins or not is a different story, but how many 23 fight prospects can say they lasted 12 rounds against B-Hop, nevermind beat him?

And right after that, he fought Winky Wright, who hadn't been defeated in years and no one looks good against WW.

Tune up fight against Ouma, kicks his ass and than fights Cory Spinks, who we all know doesn't come to fight due to his defensive style, made Taylor look bad but nevertheless, he won.

how many people look good fighting those guys? they are known to look bad against, but he still fought him. The man ducks no one.

Than comes Pavlik..coming off of a very impressive performance against Miranda and without a doubt, the hardest puncher Taylor will have fought. Good fight, Taylor comes EXTREMELY close to getting KP out of there in the 2nd round, but the champ from Ohio showed grit and determination as they both battled until Taylor got caught with big punches in the seventh while leading on the judges scorecards.

First time he's been knocked out..hell, first time he's been knocked down AND defeated. Not to mention, it was a brutal KO and what does he do? does he take a tune-up fight to get his confidence back in check, or to see if he can recover from this defeat? No, he goes rright to a rematch and looks better than ever despite losing a close decision.

Boxing fans have no problem bitching and moaning that fighter A is ducking Fighter B but when Taylor takes on all comers, even sometimes not looking impressive, but still winning, he is bashed to no end, even being called a fraud. :patsch

some people are so ****ing ******ed. If you like hearing it or not, the man is a GOOD fighter, he doesn't duck anyone and ontop of all of this, he is one of the classiest human beings out there.

    That is all. :deal

A few boring fights and close decisions. Me I like the guy hes fought everyone he probablly shouldnt considering some of the styles. He goes out of his way to take on tough matchups. Bernard Hopkins always says oh lets see if Taylor can do what I did with 20 title defenses and sure Taylor didnt but ill give him this his title defenses came agianst Winky,Ouma,Spinks,BHop and Pavlik those 5 fighters where better then all but a couple of Hopkins 20.

Nothing but love for Lampley. Although he does (or did) overrate Taylor horrifically.

JT just shouldn't be a fighter. He isn't mentally structured for it. He doesn't have the "dog" in him that he claims, or at least, isn't willing to let it out every single time, which is enough for me to say "just leave it in the kennel". :conf

Great post m8. I've always realy liked JT. Like you said he never ducked anyone. Took on some tough fights and was always competetive. He is a very talented boxer, just in the last few years he started to get a little bit lacklustre such as keeping his left down and getting into exchanges he didn't need to whilest not listening to his corner too well. Having said that Emmanuel Stuart was in his corner so I don't realy blame him.

Also taking the Pvlik fight took balls and then making the rematch straight after that brutal knockout took even bigger balls in my oppinion. I believe he will be champ again one day. And deservedly so. I think he just needs to find that spark again, because after beeing on top for a while, the love for the fight seems to deminish in a lot of fighters.

Great fighter. Great bloke. Can't understand the hate either m8.

HBO prodigy that should have 5 losses on his record atleast. Hbo paved the way for him and helped him get decisions that he should have not gotten.

Maybe so but you can't say Taylor didn't get unnecessary flak from being so closly affiliated with Lampley & Co.

Such bull**** man. Oscar De la Hoya is HBOs love child anything he wants hes got from them and did save him from getting screwed vs Tito and losing to Mosley ? There was exactly 2 so called contreversal decisions Jermain Taylor won and they where both B-Hop fights and let me tell you something when you got a guy (Hopkins) who throws 10 punches a round and lands nothing signifcant agianst a guy in JT who throws 50 a round whos going to win those rounds ? JT that was the pattern the 1st 6 rounds of both fights. Noboddy ****ed Bernard Hopkins but himself.

Bingo. With all the gift decisions against ATGs who SHOULD have gotten the nod, it should be no wonder why fans give this guy ****. Fans don't like it when great fighters get hosed to pave the way for HBOs latest hype job.

    Literally impossible.

Kessler-Taylor? I would (and will, if applicable) make a lifetime ban bet in a heartbeat.

Taylor gets **** because he has all the ability to be the best but has never fully realized it yet. he is a good fighter but his style makes it so that he never works enough to prove that he has won. His fight against Spinks and his second B-Hop fight should have been losses and not because he didn't win but because he did not work enough to earn those victories
