Why does the s6 winner have to face Direll?

Because Anthony Dirrell won vs St-Juste and became mandatory.

In another thread I talked about that. People dont want Bute to face the winner (unification make it so that you can push back the mandatory fight).

 

Anthony Direll is more relevant at this point

 

Andre Dirrell should be on ESPN. He's black listed by HBO for being a chicken, Showtime should of considered that too.

I've read that Showtime is actually trying to have Jermaine Taylor and Andre Dirrell on a collision course. It's funny that they both are out of service by the same guy.

I wouldn't say I love to see that but this constitutes a mandatory path that Dirrell has to take. It would be the first step of his rehabilitation.

How about we have Andre Dirrell fight Kessler. I mean Kessler has no chance against Andre Ward. We already seen what happens when a weak European goes up against a supreme US athlete

Isn't Anthony Dirrel the mandatory for Balzsay, who is the WBA champ? At least that's what I thought..

EDIT : Oops my bad, it was a WBC eliminator, and the WBC don't have super champion. BUT they rarely follow their own rules so I doubt they will order the S6 winner vs Anthony Dirrell anytime soon..

 

Last time the mental weakling André Dirrell faced a dane he was KTFO even though the dane was a lightweight.

 

Anthony Dirrell is very good and I think he has a good chance to beat the winner of tomorrow nights fight. He is better than Andre, and if it wasn't for a wrist or hand injury he would've made the Olympic team and faired better than big bro.

 

Anthony "earned" his mandatory status, whether you like it or not. That's just boxing status quo. Beat the right guy with the right ranking on the right night, and boom - you're in. Whether there are a handful (or dozens) of more battle-tested contenders in line ahead of you, just leap-frog on over 'em.

In Anthony's case I think he's got quite a high ceiling and could definitely wind up a worthy contender...he just isn't yet as of now. It's still nothing to moan about, though. There have been countless less worthy mandatory challengers who've done even less to earn the spot along the away.

 

Dirrell got his chance at the super six and chickened out. Why should he get a shot at the winner.

 

I think that Dirrell should step aside and let the winner get Bute, he needs to go 12 rounds before anything.
