Why does Tim Bradley have little power?

I know that you don't have to be extremely well fit to be able to have KO power but if you look at Tim Bradley he looks like he can knock someone out with one punch. The dude is buff as hell but only has 11 KOs out of 26 fights. Why is that?

He has decent pop, he's just not a great finisher.

I wouldn't say that he has "little power".

Because he doesn't use his legs for follow through power in his punches.

i'm one of those people that believes your born with power and can only polish it so much with technique or training. Tyson believed this as well and said that a 160lb Hearns could KO a HW based on his natural power.

maybe Bradley just isn't gifted with power but he makes up for it in other departments, for someones that's NOT a puncher i actually think Bradley has alright pop.

He does not put everything into his punches but even if he did he would never be a knockout artist. Some fighters like Naseem Hamed had natural power, he was never ripped like Tim but could probably hit twice as hard, even at featherweight.

He doesn't sit down on his punches either. Maybe because of his extensive amateur experience where you need to just tap the guy for points etc.

He hits hard...just seems to do something wrong, maybe it is his technique or finishing ability. Maybe he's scared of "hurting" the other guy not sure....

You mean like hitting the target and not 'punching through' the target?

I would agree with you, but Ive heard interview with Steward saying that Hearns had only average power when he first began working with him, and it wasnt until he learned proper technique and follow through that his power increased

Otherwise I concur 100%. Power can be increased a bit, but its an inherent trait. Ive seen many people with no training come into the gym and they for whatever reason can hit really ****ing hard, harder than trained fighters

The one thing about power is that it doesnt follow "being in shape". Ive seen whip thin kids that could crack, and big 6 foot 200+ pound fellows that just didnt hit anything beyond ordinary

I will say that having powerful legs and torso, it contributes greatly to strong punch.

Also lanky fighters often can have good power, due to their mechanical advantages. Lews and the Klistchko brothers are long limbered and hit very hard

Probably the best indicator of poor power is overdeveloped chest muscles and biceps. Guys with big "mirror" muscles are almost always weak punchers.

    ok

    I watched some quick highlights

and I think he doesn't turn his punches over properly. Especially his left hook.

honestly, I might venture a bet on Alexander. I gotta think about this
