why is he recognized as an ATG his best win was a controversial 1 against DLH and most people do not recognise oscar as a great as he didnt go on to have any significant wins to enable him to gain such worthy status, so why is tito so celebrated? if he beat ike quartey, shane mosely and fought kostay tszyu at catch weight i'd understand the comotion surrounding him. apart from his power what was so special about him?

well destorying joppy for the middleweight belt was pretty decent, vargas and reid where big prospects until tinidad ruined them Those three fights alone should count for quite alot.

    Trinidad was ****ing awesome.

He had trouble with tactical fighters who had good movement and defense, but that was pretty much it.

Trinidad was a very entertaining fighter, and I kind of wish he had remained active after his loss against Hopkins. We lost out on a lot of potentially good match-ups.

because he's had an exceptional career to go along with a strong resume. camacho, carr, campas, whitaker, hoya, reid, vargas, joppy... is a good list of names, despite faded versions of camacho and whitaker. in addition to being undisputed at 147, 154, and destroying the guy some thought was the best MW of the time for a title at 160. one fun fighter to watch in his prime to boot.

:patsch 1. He didn't beat Shane nor did he fight Kosta Tszyu.

    2. Oscar is calculating (fighting guys from lover divisions, i.e. Shane from 135, Floyd, Manny Pacquaio, **** is ridiculous)

    3. They BOTH fought around the same weight, but Tito LOOKED for challenges, NOT tactical:fight fights with smaller guys.....

    4. Oscar's biggest wins of the DECADE are over Vargas and Mayorga, AFTER Tito detonated their asses (Vargas down 5 times, Mayorga 3 times)

    5. Tito lost to Winky Wright, BHOP, and Roy Jones, (you think Oscar would EVER fight Winky or RJ:hi: ) - Oscar is calculating

    6. Tito lost to BHOP because he was better and there was NO DOUBT that BHOP was the better man.....Oscar lost by a VERY "controversial" body shot and becomes business partners with him a "WEEK LATER.":-( -
    Oscar is calculating

You DO know that he started his career 40-0 and NEVER lost at 147 and 154lbs, and his first loss was to the BEST middleweight champion since Marvin Hagler:patsch

You need to watch more of Trinidad as you clearly haven't, boxrec doesn't explain everything.

Watch him in his prime before making an uneducated judgement of his career. He is probably the fourth greatest Puerto Rican ever. There is a reason why he is mentioned every time Cotto fights because of what he achieved just like whenever Barrera, Morales or Castillo fight Chavez is mentioned.

    Nope.

And if you watch Trinidad in his fights with Winky or Hopkins (I don't even count the farce which was his 'fight' with RJJ), it is easy to underestimate him.

    But man, could he fight!

And I was never really much of a Trinidad fan.

But I always appreciated how awesome he was, and making matters all the better, he had a very crowd-pleasing style.

One of Tito's biggest problems is that if plan A didn't work, he rarely had much of a plan B, but this is a testament to his warrior spirit--the man came to FIGHT!
