Why does Tyson Fury have so much fat around his lower back?

Even after getting into better shape after depression, he still has this blob of fat on his lower back. As a pro-athlete shouldn’t he look more in shape? Why is it so hard for him to lose that love handle that grew into his lower back?

It's just the way he is. Like another said, everyones body will distribute fat differently. He would likely have to get down to 240 or below to get rid of the love handles and losing that much weight could do more harm than good

I think it’s that he has too many carbs, if he cut the alcohol he would be low in fat.

The highest carbohydrate eaters in the world have the lowest levels of body fat (in 2022, that is Africa and rural Asia). Fat (from all sources) and animal products = fat.

There is no such think as a localized loss of fat.

Fury has a soft lower back because he has a high percentage of fat for a top level athlete, even at his lower weight. He is still the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world and a lock for the Hall of Fame so it really doesn't matter. He's a boxer, not a bodybuilder, he's still incredibly fast and the higher weight gives him a power and clinching advantage on his opponents.

Yeah but if you're literally overweight than having that much fat on you in itself is unhealthy.

Fury was massively fat for the 3rd wilder fight, but he went down from 277 to 264 for Dillian Whyte. So I'm going to assume the OP was watching Wilder 3 fight before making this thread, where Fury was fat as ****, because Fury did look trimmer for the Whyte fight.

Fury's back fat reduced significantly for the Whyte fight lol. It is a noticable reduction.

I think Fury should go down to about 260lbs, maybe lost about 6/7lbs of fat, and put on a few lbs of muscle.

260lbs would be a perfect weight for Fury. No reason for him to be any heavier.

Look at this way - His next opponent will be AJ (240lbs) or Usyk (220lbs).

I know he always likes to have a weight advantage over his opponent, so whoever his next opponent will be, 260lb will not slow him down and will also make it so he has enough weight to lean on his opponent.

By definition they are eating less though
They are roughly all huge dudes
Fury just don’t give a crap about aesthetics.

I honestly think the guy still eats like **** and drinks a lot while also working out often.

He looks like your friends dad who is out of breath if he walks up the stairs yet he has a great engine to box well for 12 rounds.

Its a pity he doesnt look in shape. It hurts him marketingwise and its thre same reason casuals dont take him serious yet fawn over a bodybuilder like AJ.

He also doesn't give a **** about training either. Joshua trains all year round, Wilder/Usyk etc all do too.

Fury trains only in the build up to a fight.
