Why does Tyson get credit for getting knocked out? ATG chin???n

"chin" isnt just about standing and taking it, that went out 2 centuries ago.

if you neglect to use the entirety of your chin (defending and then responding to being hit) then you may as well just roll over and quit.

 

People have different definitions of "chin".

Obviously to someone who ranks Tyson's chin as a model of all-time great chins, "chin" simply means being able to remain on your feet after taking a big punch.

I disagree with that definition, since fighters can be "out on their feet" and that's due to their punch resistance being penetrated too.
Tyson was very often out on his feet in a sheer fog in those fights where he was beaten, and doing very little to fight back.

He had a very good chin. Not an ATG chin.
A very good chin at heavyweight is a pretty big deal though.

 

So you are also saying that by the facts, Ruiz hit harder than Tyson and Lewis (why did you only include Tyson?)and Cooper hit harder than Liston, Foreman and Shavers?

I'm saying by the facts he hurt Tyson more than Holyfield did and Cooper hurt Ali more than those 3 did, am I right or am I right?

Tyson most certainly does NOT have an ATG chin, a good chin yes, but not an ATG one.

 

An atg chin is almost freakish. Guys like mcall are out of the ordinary. But i dont think tysons chin was too far off. Not atg but very very good. His chin was pretty much the last thing to go in the stoppage losses.

He did have a very good chin though

Partly supporting your argument with citing the number of times he was kod is flawed

Context is everything and from 85-02 he was only stopped twice, by Douglas and Holyfield. And he took tons of big shots in both fights before losing.

 

What the fcuk are you babbling on about?

 

Holyfield was basiclaly shot when he fought Ruiz and Toney.

Did it occur to you that there are varying versions of any fighter. The shot versions do not possess the same attributes of the more prime version.

I believe what jacks trying to put across is.. Because one fighter is hurt by another.. Then that fighter goes on to meet another guy who doesn't hurt him but is a better all round fighter.. Does that mean the first guy who hurt him is better than the better all round fighter.. Or something like that any way!
