2 years ago everyone said he was a bum, then he got some good wins under his belt. So people took notice and said he is just outside top10/15, then everyone said "Once he beats Browne I'll give him credit and start rating him", he ruins Browne and gets KO of the year over him, and people were still hating, saying "this means nothing, I still don't rate him..." Then before the Parker fight "Parker will destroy Whyte, he has no chance, there are levels to boxing, Parker by a shut out".... THEN when he beats and drops Parker, people still come up with excuses "but but but... Parker lost to Joshua and has never been good to begin with, he went life and death with Ruiz, basically Whyte beat a bum" What does Whyte need to do for you to respect him?
You can always nit pick "haters". Whyte just happens to have momentum, and a big ass mouth. People are picking him over Ortiz. Let that sink in for a moment.
Because he should have at least two more losses on his record (Chisora, Parker) and was receiving massive gifts there.
Exact same thing was said before the Parker fight, he has a chance vs Ortiz. Luis hasn't got the best chin, he is getting older and older, Whyte could rough him up and get one of them left hooks on his chin.
Because he's a loudmouthed shithead, with average punching power, a **** gas tank, a average chin, who seems to think he's the second coming of Mike Tyson, when in reality he's a thoroughly average European level talent, who's the recipient of two gifts, his actual best wins are Helenius and Browne, let that sink in.
Ortiz hasn't got the best chin might be true but it was solid enough to take flush right hands from Wilder for 10 rounds, recovering from a knockdown + many illegal shots and rabbit punches. Ortiz will stop Whyte under 10. But Whyte will not take the fight anyway. He will fight Chisora in a rematch. Whyte is an overrated and hyped bum due to Eddie and Matchroom matchmaking. He only has one good win under his belt and that's Parker and the fight was close and the win for Whyte was questionable. Helenius might be a good win too but Helenius is/was shot. If somebody comes out with Lucas Browne...forget it. Chisora win was good but was no win so i do not count it as a win.
He needs to fight Ortiz, frankly. Browne is completely shot, and his performance against a disinterested Parker was hardly the stuff of greatness. If he fights Ortiz, I'll happy be lauding him. He probably won't though, cos he and Matchroom have decided to cash out rather than go for titles. They're gonna hype another fight against Chisora (whom he beat, and who he'll beat again), to set up another fight against AJ (whom he lost to, and whom he'll lose to again). It's utterly predictable. I'm not sure after another predictable Chisora win that the AJ fight will capture the public's imagination, though. Any fighter in his position and with any balls, would be fighting Ortiz.
Chisora I felt strongly should have been a draw, but we're getting a rematch, so can't complain. This is one of those fights where I thought a draw would have been very fair.
All top fighters get hate. If anything, he seems to be comparatively well liked. Probably at least 80% of posters rank him as a top 6 HW. What more can you really want?
Let me think: - most self entitled boxer out there - lies, or at least is greatly exaggerating that his "shoulder went" coincidentally when he hurt AJ - Calls out fighters like Ortiz, Pulev & Povetkin yet turns down 2 of the aforementioned and he knew Povetkin was fighting AJ not him so smoke & mirrors. - makes up stories about pulling bullets from his own gun wounds (that no one has seen) - Is a Mike Tyson wannabe and wants to intimidate everyone in the room by deliberately darting his eyes everywhere. - when he looks poor against puddings he always make excuses about wanting the rounds - offering Chisora 25% for the rematch. Who does he think he is? - ridiculous cheating in the Parker fight, especially the last round
I like him. I’ll admit that I didn’t. He’s proven himself to be a top contender for today. People are saying he needs to beat Ortiz to get respect, but they were saying the same thing when he fought Parker. I thought Parker was going to turn him over, so I’ve got to give Whyte respect.
