It has everything to do with it. If Wilder feels he can critique another
fighter publicly (With pure nonsense I will add) He opens the door
    to be critiqued.
    It really is that simple....
If you choose to call Bruce Seldon a name on this public forum
it's your opinion. If someone challenges you on it on this public
forum. You should expect it, because everyone's opinion will not
be the same as yours, and it IS a public forum.
One doesn't need to be a pro boxer to have an educated opinion
    on the sport.
Though I have been in and around the sport for almost fifty
years and knowledgeable enough to have trained successful fighters.
I still consider myself a STUDENT of the game, and continue to learn.
But I do know nonsense when I hear it.
And Wilder's opinion on Tyson is pure nonsense , and seems to me
at least more a reflection on himself.

He's projecting, just like with AJ.

No one is saying Wilder is above criticism or immune to it, but answering his critiques of Tyson with, “What have you ever done?” or “Here’s all your faults” is not any kind of answer to the relevant points at all, just deflection.

Is your opinion on the comments Wilder
    has made him deflecting?

If that was/is Wilder’s motive, that’s a pretty damn childish motive, imo.

No, I get you Ney and you do make sense.

But when it comes to, he of the “Robot” costume, Wilder, it’s so much more gratifying to play both the man and the ball.

Instead of Wilder, think Larry Holmes, that might make it so much easier.

He beat an ATG who was the lineal heavyweight champion on his fourth defense.

Spinks was largely unproven at heavyweight so Tyson beating him doesn't prove much because we have no idea how capable Spinks was at heavy regardless of weight.

And Lewis gets lots of flack for not beating Holyfield more decisively

Lewis flogged an admittedly washed up Holyfield at the first time of asking. He then dramatically under-performed in the rematch & nearly lost it. Make of the results what you will.

These are the reasons as far as I can tell:

Wilder was frustrated by the criticism he received as WBC champion, as well as the glorification of past HW's like Tyson and criticised Tyson's record.

    Tyson criticised Wilder's record.

Tyson celebrated Fury's win over Wilder.
