If you're going to take press conference trash talking as actual game-plans in fights then best of luck to you.
He has done it but after steward took over he almost never thorw body shots but I think we will see more of that now that banks are training wlad. In his fight against Pianete he throwed som hard left hooks to the body. He got such a powerful left hook so I hope he starts throwing it more to the body. Here a time when wlad used to punch to the body http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=UPNFoJX-_BA
Because going to the head you left your opponent permanently stunned, in the red zone; And it is a more sure way to gain a knock out.
Wlad really wanted to knock Haye out, no question about it in my mind. Both him and Vitali cared about something more than money and a mere "W" in thin case.
Did you not see the body shot which Fury used just before he stopped Cunningham? Stopped him dead in his tracks, and had him backing up for dear life.
Why give your height up? Do what you do well, fight tall and long. Going to the body as the taller man brings risks, it's not that Wlad is scared, it's smart boxing.
Going for the body when you're so tall against fighters that aren't as tall means you will have to get close. This leaves him open, Wlad gets stiffs if he gets tagged good.
Mayweather is already a top 50 ATG And maybe the best 130 lbs fighter ever. And you know he meant top 15 atg hw.
Why bother though? He's performing to his best and has cleaned out the division to the point that there is no one left. Why change what is working so well?
