Why does Wladimir never go to the body?

Wlad through 2-3 left hooks to the body in his last fight. He just doesn't a lot because it negates his reach advantage

 

He just isn't that skilled. Which just shows once again that he mainly wins because he is really big.

Check out the first Wlad-Tony Thompson fight when Tony was a dangerous quantity in there. Wlad was getting beaten up a bit in those early rounds, his timing was off and really had a hard time landing on Tony. Finally, after Thompson was landing good body shots a light bulb seemed to go off in Wlad's mind. He started nailing Tony with big bodyshots and after awhile Thompson was sucking wind and Wlad started taking charge and got better at landing blows upstairs. Thompson was equal in height to Wlad and heavier so Wlad could utilize body shots. He would be foolish to do so with opponents who are much shorter than he as most are. Ali towered over most of his opponents in his day and rarely employed body shots. He, like Wlad just didn't need to and why take the risk?
