Why does Zab Judah constantly dissapoint?

He's one of the best B-level guys relative to his weight class I think, even now, it's just that he can't compete at an elite level and never could.

 

Lacks heart, mental toughness. He also never had great boxing ability. This was evident when David Diaz outboxed twice in a week to eliminate him in the '96 Olympic qualifiers. It was evident throughout his pro career when all the best boxers he fought could figure him out and beat him up all too easily. Someone mentioned it, "One trick pony", that's a good way to describe him. He lived and died on that counter left haymaker.

 

I dont know but he really let me down in his last fight. Im done supporting him ans thinking he will takr that big step to stardom. Im like **** him at this point.

 

I used to be big supporter of judah also, this may sound crazy but of all of mayweather's opponents he's the only one I was backing to win and thought he had the best chance, again think he was 50/50 against cotto, favored him over clottey and after winning the vacant title recently thought he had a good chance against khan. This guy never fails not to disappoint me, and funny thing also I don't think he's past his prime he still has all that speed and athleticism as evident in his training vids. Now I think maybe this guy was never really that good at all despite all that flash

No heart, a bad-attitude does not equal toughness, when things didnt go his way, he folded, BADLY.

 

I'm sick of hearing people always say "Zab Judah has all the talent in the world, BUT..."


Maybe zab judah just isn't that talented.

C level boxers have broken him down on a regular basis, a few times he has been granted gift wins against those types of fighters.

He made fighter like Cotto and Baldomir look like unstoppable wrecking balls.

It's not just heart and IQ Judah lacks. He lacks talent as well.

but then again he does lack heart.

simply because he is not elite...he is mediocre at best...

 

He has athletic talent, but seems to lack the talent of heart and desire to overcome things in the ring, and that's a talent that comes from within in the best fighters. An iron will to win at all costs, he just doesn't seem to possess it.

 

I did not read the whole thread, but read enough to see, once again, that the average boxing fan is full of ****.

Zab has never lacked heart or balls, and it is utter stupidity to say that about him.

In many ways boxing is the toughest sport there is. Some guys just aren't wired right. Jermain Taylor is another example of that. Zab, like Jermain, just can't stay focused for more than 6 or 8 rounds. There doesn't seem to be any way to help fighters like that. Some guys just do not have the mental ability to fight hard and smart for 12 rounds.

 

Zab and guys like JCC Sr are opposites: if you watch them train and hit the bag, you would think Zab is an awesome fighter and JCC a good but ordinary one. Get them in the ring, and JCC would break him down easily.

Some plodders have a very high ring IQ and always know exactly what to do with the gifts they have. Zab looks sharp hitting the bag so people always overestimate him, he has attention deficit disorder.

You know you can never count on him to hang tough and find a way to win in adversity.

At this point, I don't think that Zab is the problem. We've seen enough of him to know what kind of fighter he is. If you keep getting disappointed by him, maybe your expectations are too high ? He's not a bad guy, he's got good skills but he's doing the same moves over and over and he can't fight through adversity. That's Zab Judah.
