Why doesn’t Mayweather get credit for calling Manny out on May 5th?

You dont believe thay. Why is it that its always an arum fighter that is always stopping a mega fight? You never see any other promoters fighter avoid a fight when they say they want one. Even the serg vs chavez fight, Arum kept Chavez protected even though he said he wasnt then admitted lying that he was. Some of you guys are just hilarious I wonder if you are that naive your real lives.

Pacquiao and Mayweather were happy to pretend like they wanted the fight but to make mega-millions fighting other opponents who were easier (or considered easier).

It was such an obvious PR game from both sides.

Floyd doesn't want the fight unless the reward is so ridiculously high that he wouldn't be able to justify to himself not taking the fight. Floyd is all about risk vs reward, so he offered Pacquiao an insulting offer of $40m, where he would have earned well over $120m. This was designed to be an insult - Floyd won't risk that 0, which he markets himself on, for anything less than a ludicrous figure and despite some say Floyd beats Pacquiao, there is no doubt that there is something about Pacquiao that Floyd sees as a threat, no question, he sees something others don't see or he would have taken the fight already.

Arum has his politics and will manoeuvre constantly until he gets a huge piece of the pie. He doen't want to share it with GBP.

The only one who I think really wants the fight at all costs is Pacquiao, and he is the most powerless to make it happen

what is insulting about 40 mil when pac had never came close to earning such money? By this logic pac was being insulted well before floyds offer and has continued to be insulted since. Only now, i bet he wishes he had accepted the 40 mil when he had the chance.

No he doesn't, it wasn't 40m for Pac, it was for Top Rank's share. Pac would end up making barely more than for JMM or Bradley.

It's not like it was going to actually happen. No way are Mayweather and Arum going to actually work out a deal.
