I'm fully aware that a lot of folks including myself get turned off by angel garcia's loud-mouth antics and dim-witted views on society and the world in general. Now a number of coaches get praise for guiding a fighter eg. Roach for developing manny as a more all around fighter, virgil hill gets credited for ward's achievements, brother naz for leading b-hop and mosley towards their victories against pavlik and margarito, etc...having said that, why doesn't angel get his due credit in terms of molding danny as the fighter he is today? Thoughts?:think
Angel does deserve credit for guiding Danny's career as a father and trainer. I don't approve all his antics but as Floyd Mayweather Junior said he likes Danny Garcia and his father who is a cool guy and you cannot blame a guy for loving his son.
Angel is certifiable insane and it's Danny's high skill level combined with the old mans motivational skills.
If Danny wasn't into current shitty rap culture and had a humble dad he'd be a hugely likable figure like Matthysse. Amazing how over the past 3 years nobody has managed to do **** at 140 because they are too busy pssyooting around or getting knocked out...now Garcia and Matthysse rule it... lol.
Angel is funny, even if he is out of his damn mind. He definitely deserves credit for some of Danny's success.
Like angel said he is the most underrated trainer out there. If you listen to his assessments on other fighters you know he has got a good brain as well as being a good judge of character. Danny is very lucky to have a father and trainer like angel because he gets you pumped up with his speeches and his motivational handling is second to none always making sure danny is on his A-game for his fights and makes sure the opponents are bringing their A-game to bring the best out of Danny.
