Better style matchup + more legacy + more $$ = Adamek. No A/B/C in the equation.[/quote] Than you see my point than. If it doesn't help his legacy as much as adamek or Calzaghe than why waist his time?
because casual fans wouldn't know Dawson. They also don't know Amadek but at least he can say he won a Cruiserweight belt and they can sell that
I guess my point is just that the legacy question has nothing to do with the fighter, only the weightclass jump. I also don't care for the A/B/C-type arguments. That's what I was jumping on.
Dawson doesnt bring money to the table yet Adamek is a super massive draw? Lets not forget Dawson beat Adamek fairly convincingly, and im a Adamek fan. What makes Adamek such a massive money fight? I know he has a massive Polish base in the US but its not as though he is topping PPV is it.
Thats why the "toy town tough guy" all the US have jumped on board in Bernard "Huggy Bear" Hopkins, tried to ***** HIS way out of the fight by calling fouls Calzaghe won get over it
Would fighting James Toney not bring in more money for Hopkins than Adamek? As far as legacy goes if Hopkins had wins over Pavlik and Dawson and they both went on to rule their divisions that must count for a lot.
Calzaghe has never been the champ at 175 except in some deluded minds on ESB. BHOP knew he wasn't the real champ at 175 either. Dawson has been the champ for the duration of this period. Hop knows Chad poses too many problems due to his age (youth). Only a fool believes JC would have had a chance versus Chad. It would have been a blowout.
For a few reasons basically: 1- Chad Dawson is unproven to non-Showtime audiences 2- Chad Dawson is an avenue Hopkins has no interest in right now unproven and undefeated fighters. 3- Dawson presents all the problems that cost Hopkins the fights against Taylor and Calzaghe. 4- Adamek brings a CW title which is something Hopkins wants apparently. 5- More money in Adamek (Who will bring a LARGE LARGE polish fan base) than Dawson (Who has no major fan base)
Look this is how i see a dawson-hopkins fight going based on what ive seen from both of these fighters last two fights. Dawson will try to be defensive but will have to go on offense as hopkins is a counterpuncher and wont bring the fight to him. Dawson comes in and gets tagged then hopkins moves into offensive and cuts dawson down like he did pavlik. I could be wrong but look at the way Hopkins handled Tarver and the way dawson did. Hopkins has more experience and power than Dawson but i dont see why he wants to fight Adamek cos dawson beat him soundly from what i heard anyways. Anyways the best fight for hopkins at LH is either Calzaghe or Johnson. I saw Johnson beating Dawson but the rounds were close and it was a very close fight for me to score and even tho hopkins Knocked johnson out before i think at this stage it would be a good match up with hopkins winning on points. the only danger to hopkins in all honesty is Calzaghe. hes the only fighter that will come forward and cut hopkins down, and taylor 3 could be interesting if he beats kessler and froch especially with the whole pavlike thing
Some Polish guy genrates more money in America that one of America's best boxing talents! This proves that boxing is dead in the USA and American boxing fans are not as supportive compared to other nations.
