Why doesn't Beterbiev respect Bivol?

Some fighters operate by convincing themselves they truly loathe an opponent so they enter the ring angry and wanting to take the guy's head off. Once it's over, then they drop it and can become a good sport.

Just how it goes for some guys.

He is in war mode. Bivol is the enemy.

 

Does anyone want their favourite boxer to be nice and polite. When it is do or die, then I cannot imagine anyone wanting them to shake hands and be nice to each other.

Mike Tyson as one of the most popular HWs of all time was not a nice guy was he?

 

There are different kinds of fans. Some like the violent trash talkers, some like the intellectual humble sportsmen. That's pretty much the dynamic we have here.

Bivol ....beat him the first time and I think he will do it on Saturday.

 

You shake hands with your opponent and hug him after the fight. You don't do that before the fight.

 

I think Beterbiev is arrogant. He's not humble at all. And he tells lies like "I don't like boxing, I don't like punching people", yet he trains his a.ss off in the gym to get strong as he possible to hurt his opponents and get rich.

 

Youre really extrapolating a lot off of two statements. Most people dont "like" their career paths but we do what we gotta do to pay the bills. Its just not practical to change fields at a certain point...you kind of get locked in/grandfathered in

 

Not at all. Beterbiev is Chechen. He has that quiet but cool confidence that a lot of fighting men from the Caucasus have.

 

He exposed Beterbiev's grift and ruined his fake KO streak. Beterbiev is a weight bully that relies on rabbit punching to win. He fights a dude with half decent skills, and his "scary power" disappears and looks totally lost in the ring. He's got a legion of weirdo online fanboys who defend his behavior. He probably hates that a lot of people thought somebody as limited as Bivol beat him. The whole division is insanely overrated and as deep as a puddle.
And before I get accused of being a Bivol fanboy because of my profle pic and banner, I'm not. It's an inside joke with my buddies. There used to be all those LDBC guys saying Canelo avoids Black fighters because they would beat him, so when Bivol did it we joked that Bivol is a slick Black fighter named Demetrius.

 

Don’t really care about that sort of thing. It’s the hurt business not the let’s be friends business. There also could be some heat between them behind the scenes that the public isn’t aware of.
