As others have said, Cotto eats a lot and while he might not be an alcoholic per se, he does drink an awful lot.

Cottos' trainer is well versed in S&C according to 24/7 or w/ever it's called on SHO.

As many have already pointed out he has a S&C coach, Landman isn't Ariza or Memo in terms of controversial or attention seeking or a combination of both.

In any case I do think Cotto is better suited to 147lbs however he gets up quite big in between fights and many people do not enjoy cutting the weight. He has been at 154lbs for a little while and to go down to 147lbs is all well and good but once he gets past Paulie then what? Manny and Floyd are both waiting for him again and we all know whats going to happen there!

Virgil Hunter said that S&C coaches know how to put weight on, but not take it off. If he wants to get to 147, he's going to have to sweat down, and you have no idea how that affects aging fighters. He just needs better matchmaking.

He's not a shot fighter, and even in the Trout and Mayweather fights, he didn't take a lot of punishment. He needs people who will pick his fights better as Cotto has the style and fanbase to still do good numbers. Just match him with guys he can outbox and outfight.
