Why doesn't Deontay Wilder have major commercial endorsements like Joshua has?

Ya its because the companies are racist and wont work with black athletes... ya thats it... brilliant.

Well except for Kevin Durant... but besides him your spot on. Ok well except for Bolt... but take out those two, and your point is rock solid. (lets not count Lebron James either...Take out him too and youre spot on.)

We better skip Serena Williams too... and lets gloss over James Harden while were at it just to be safe.

    ...

I dont have the time to list the other however many 'dark skinned' black athletes that have nice endorsement deals...

But hey Im sure you're used to not letting facts get in your way so carry on.

You made an outstanding observation. Just brilliant.

its sad that there is colorism amongst black people and people actually play into it. no, wilder being darker than joshua is not a reason why he's disliked and lamon brewster hinting that its the reason last year shows hes not intelligent at all. wilder is disliked for many other reasons.

Eddie Hearn is forever saying he has no idea why Deontay Wilder isn’t more popular...

Power punching American heavyweight champion... good talker, acts and looks the part!

And like a lot of the comments have already said I completely disagree he must only be saying that to stick it to Harmon and finkel.

Wilder comes across to me a utter buffoon! He doesn’t speak well, he is constantly rambling for the sake of rambling, contradicting himself and his incessant over acting trying to play some sort of character.

Not to mention some of the controversial statements he’s made about trying to kill opponents.

He’s a dangerous fighter... I think AJ and Fury beat him but he’s could end both fights with one punch.

But as a person and personality very dislikable.

Endorsments resume is of utmost importance when I pick my favorite boxers.

Because i imagine there isn't a director with enough patients, imagine asking wilder to say 5 lines, there would be more takes than all the Lord of the rings put together.

Boxers don't really get much endorsements over here Floyd Mayweather is the most popular or recognizable boxer of last decade and I don't remember him having any significant sponsorship

I remember Ward and Golovkin having spots in commercials but I don't think either guy was the main athlete in the commercials that they were in but I could be wrong

Wilder is a small fish in the very big pond, while joshua is a bit bigger fish but in very small pond.
Bboxing in US is not as mainstream as NFL , NBA or MLB and Wilder is not a star at all ,here’re like 100 of better known athletes in US than wilder.
Joshua is not a global superstar either, he’s a superstar in UK that’s about it. His endorsements come from UK market. If he was a global superstar he wouldn’t be just 25th best paid athlete in the world with like 16 american athletes making more than UK’s biggest star.

    Couple of reasons:

    - hardly anyone in the States knows who he is. If they do know him it's as the guy that Tyson Fury got up from after being knocked down.
    - he's got an obnoxious, phoney personality that doesn't appeal to anyone barring a small segment of the population.
    - he's got no filter to his mouth and has a tendency to say wildly inappropriate things at the drop of a hat.
    - he's been engaged in criminal altercations in the past

So, in short, he's unknown, unliked, and a potential liability for any brand to be associated with.

That's hilarious and incredibly sad at the same time. The desperation (and awful English) just oozes off the page.

I think most people know why, and it's not because of the things he says or does.

There's a good reason but I will not elaborate, it'll take too long to discuss.

There hasn’t been been an American heavyweight star in like 20 years.

That grill made him $200 million dollars. One of the greatest endorsement deals I have ever seen. It was also the greatest misstep of Hulk Hogan's career.

If you had a business would like The Bomb Squad to be associated with it?
