Why doesn't Floyd capitalize and fight 4 times a year?

Everybody here has made good points. But when you talk about him claiming to be the greatest,

    1. you cant use kobe and jordan as an example because basketball is a team sport. boxing isnt. It is very easy to claim you are the greatest when you are in a gladiator sport. I will not get mad at ANY boxer for claiming that. Its just one of those things and i guarantee pbf wasnt the only boxer to say he is the greatest. If i was boxing and i knew that if i made a statement like that, it was gonna **** people off so much that they buy my fight to see me lose, i would be dumb not to keep saying it. you can only blame yourself for not being smart enuff to realize what he is doing to you.

    2. you say that it insults ali and srr, but ali did the same thing, and well before he was truly looked at as the great. But it was ali's persona that kept him in the spot light, and while people will say floyd is no ali even in the persona dept, the fact of the matter is, whatever persona he is, has the whole with his name in their mouth, It has all of his haters following him on twitter and facebook, talking about everything that he is doing. He isnt even thinking about boxing right now, but the word "boxing" cant even be mentioned without saying something about him.

When it comes his inactivity, yes I would love to see him box more, but i think that i have a business mindset and i understand that the more you do it the less your demand is. I look at it like this, its like going on a date with a pretty girl. If you dont get to go on that date often with her, then finally when you do, you are going to go all out. But If you constantly go out, she isnt as in demand as she once was. So to the guy who says that he will be making more money. Thats just not necessarily true. Plus like someone else posted, how many other boxers are fight four times a year. I know dawson, berto, mosley, wright, ..they arent.

Maybe it could be his hands as another poster mentioned. I have read a lot of post that say "well he hardly takes punishment in the ring, so he can box more" but what they seem to fail to think about is the punishment he takes before the ring. All the **** that goes into preparation. Pushing you body to the limit, training. Constantly hitting the heavy bag. That **** hurts after a while. Anybody who does any type of physical sports or something that requires that level knows that you train hard so the "show" can be easy. He is not taking punishment in the ring, but we dont know what type of punishment he is taking preparing himself to not take punishment.

Lastly for the life of me, i cannot understand how any person can say something about what a boxer need to do. It is their body they do what the **** they wanna do with it. I didnt like manny choosing to fight clottey but who the **** am i to say who he should fight. He did more than what i did. Why should a boxer fight a particular person or a certain number of times or a certain way to appease you. LEt me guess because you are paying your hard earned money to see him. Miss me with that bs because you are the dummy for that. If it bothers you then the best way for you to get back at that fighter is not to contribute to his dollars. Everyone else who contributes is happy with what they get or just to dumb to realize they dont have to buy.
FLoyd is my fav boxer and i appreciate manny. My views is this. I hate the money may persona more and more but i dont knock it because i see that his money is constantly increasing so the man is doing something right. Plus i have met him and he wass definately a humbled person. Plenty of undefeated boxers who are not even close to his $$ or attention, so the man is doing something right. Do i get mad at manny for not taking the test. NOPE. I wonder why he wont for that type of money, but at the same time he doesnt owe me an explaination so i get over it. Its his body so he is entitled to do what he wants and i support that. Innocent till poven guilty is MO. This is from a person that really feels unbiased about the situation and just see it for what it is.

I think that manny takes a lot of flack from pbf fans and the reality is that manny can fight who he wants. I just hates that he brings it on himself because of his handlers. They are snakes.

FLoyd gets a lot more flack and he brings it on himself for his perception, but thats what he wants so that doesnt bother me. The flack that i say is ridiculous is people just searching for ****. EX. "floyd makes me sick to my stomach. he is always flashing money on his twitter page." WELL WHY THE **** ARE YOU FOLLOWING HIM?

I personally see problems that i could bring up about his resume and mannys, end of day neither owe anybody an explaination.

But Ali talked all that ****, but he backed it up by ACTUALLY FIGHTIN the people he talked **** to.

****, don't even bring up Ali.

Ali is the anti Mayweather. The guy fights after he's done, and he fight EVERYONE. When Ali runs his mouth, you know it's a DONE DEAL.

With Mayweather.....well look at this bull**** and you tell me.

He does not have the energy to figh 4 times a year. If he does so, he might lose against
    any average boxer.

This is what it really comes down to. Floyd believes his entire marketability and persona hinges on remaining undefeated. He doesn't want to risk losing that in ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM, so the few fewer fights he has a year, the longer he can live in the fantasy of his undefeated world and make mega bucks off sure-fire opponents.

He doesn't want to fight four times a year. He enjoys time off between fights because when he does fight he is so fully committed and it takes a toll out of his body. Once a year is all he wants to do at this point so he can relax between fights and not get sick of it.

Fair enough, but with that said, he cannot seriously be considered an ATG with his lack of consistent opposition, while the rest of the pro boxing world makes an attempt at 2-3 fights a year, if not more.

Same reason the Super Bowl doesn't happen 4 times a year, Same reason why the Nintendo Wii had a staggered release, it keeps demand high, people have to buy Floyd's fights when he fights, if they don't they have to wait 6-12 months for him to fight again. He gets the maximum amount per fight doing what he does.

Floyd was an All-Timer before he left 130lbs. He's arguably the greatest fighter of all time at that weight alone. So yes, he can "seriously be considered an ATG".

You idiots?...I'm assuming your suggesting I'm a hardcore Mayweather fan? (I'm a fan of both Mayweather and Pacquiao).

What you really mean is, you have no proof why Mayweather only fights once a year...it could be for a number of reasons. But you will never agree that there is the possibility that the reason Mayweather only fights once a year is because of his well publicized hand problems.

The only reason you say that debating with us "idiots" is a waste of time is because you have nothing to back up your claim...other than your opinion.

How many top fighters fight 4 times a year? Two or three times is the most you will see a ppv fighter like Mayweather fight in one year. It wouldn't make sense for Mayweather to fight 4 times a year.
