If he was just some guy with Power..He would be David Lemieux.

How about the fact that he can cut off the ring better than anyone else in Boxing when guys like Pac and Canelo have no clue what so ever how to do so.

How about his accuracy? Ever see Golovkin waste energy by flailing his arms or throwing stupid punches when his opponents are hurt?

Ever see how he works when his opponent goes for a clinch?

This is clearly a BS thread. GGG is light years ahead of Canelo skillwise.

I'm not a Canelo fan at all and will be cheering Khan on. But light years is a pathetic ****ysis.

Canelo is faste and equally compact and economical in his punch output.

I think Golovkin would beat Canelo, but he would be by FAR the best professional opponent he has ever faced.

Currently his best win is Martin Murray which wouldn't even make Sergio Martinez's top 5.

Golovkin is 35 next year and if he faces young lions like Eubank Jnr and Billy Joe Saunders I think we could see Golovkin extended or beaten. It happens to them all as Fury proved with Klitschko. A young lion will have a style that just proves horrible for the old guy ...

Eubank Jnr certainly is. and then some.

He also has a genuinely nasty streak about him, bordering on the psychopathic. I've see him fighting in car parks and the man seems cold and brutal.

He's also basically a decade younger than GGG. Next year I could see this being a very tough challenge for Golovkin ...

 

Because the only thing that's flashy about GGG and stands out is power, and it overshadows the little things.

 

Murray beat Martinez that night but was never going to get the decision unless he knocked him out. IMO Murray was naive for going over there to fight him, he was never going to get a fair crack of the whip.

 

GGG isn't flashy, that's why. GGG is all about fundamentals and the power makes him one of the best all around fighters in boxing. What he does well, he does it better than anyone else. Really, there is really no comparison in boxing to some of the things he does. What is that he does well?

- Cutting off the ring - second to none. Doesn't matter how well his opponent moves, he'll trap him. Watch his fights and watch his opponents go from one corner to another until they get exhausted.

- Left hook to the body. The best body punch in boxing. When it lands flush, it can knock anyone down south of Cruiserweight.

- Effective pressure. Both physical and mental. If you can't find room to breath, you tire out easier and the mental toll will put fighters into survival mode instead of trying to win.

- His offense. He disguises everything so it makes his offense unpredictable. GGG threw a jab and transitioned it into an uppercut that split Wade's guard and started the beginning of the end. Opponents can't predict his hooks, body shots or his uppercuts.

The very top competitors were pretty much equal in raw ability... it was their "technic" that separated the winners.

GGG is doing the same thing in the boxing ring... he is an artist at his craft.


Currently there isn't anyone in his league.

Maybe because you spend time on forums, thus reading both casuals and trolls worshipping him alike, and probably because you also are very familiar with his opponents.

 

There is so many things to look in to but something I've been thinking about lately:

He has better reaction time and timing than his competition.

Two cowboys, equal accuracy, equal guns but one draws faster - the difference.
