154 is a tougher division.....why be no 5 at 154 when you can be no1 at 147 with fights still there for him. if there was nothing left there for him then yeah move up to 154 ,but there is.
Margarito would agree to fight Oscar at 154 for the same reason that Floyd agreed to fight Oscar at 154, its not like Floyd fought anybody else at 154 he fought Oscar there for the Money same thing Margarito is talking about.
You asked a question I gave an answer, that simple, FLoyd has plenty to do with this thread, when this thread is made by a Floyd groupie, this thread is intended on hating Margarito, now that people have broken down a bit of reality time and time again in this thread, you are resorting to the old What does Floyd have to do with this thread? Bull****. Truth is like Floyd Margarito would move up to 154 to fight Oscar why? becuase there is money there.
I guess the real point is , if he moves up to 154 he's going to face guys who are going to re-hydrate to 165 to 170. Most guys at 154 walk around at 170 just as margarito most likely walks around at 165 170 and then boils down to 147. if you stop and think about it , its amazing that he is able to do lose that much weight and then re-hydrate back to 160 or so after weigh in and retain most of his strength.
Let's be serious. The Cotto rematch is for pride even though he demanded the rematch be set in stone before he does anything else (so he'd get a payday). Arum and Margo turn down 4 million for a huge fight with Williams and a big PRIDE fight. Only to accept a fight with Mosley who is almost 38 and shot as hell. Then on top of it. Demand more money before he signs the contract. Margo hit the top and is fighting for money now. Simple as that.
Just like the fight against DLH was for PRIDE, right? But I guess refusing to avenge your loss to the man that beat you fair and square has nothing to do with with PRIDE! atsch
Sorry but I just dont see Williams as a "HUGE" fight, Williams has no following atleast Cotto and Mosley do.
What do you want Tony to do? Williams made it impossible to set a rematch he moved up in weight, Tony is taking a break over the last two years he has fought all of the top welters he deserves a break and the Mosley fight is just that, Cotto deserves a rematch simply for taking the fight and giving Margarito his shot and the way Cotto fought I dont disagree with a rematch. Paul hasnt done anything since beating Margarito so that fight at this stage is really meaningless, now Paul does have until the end of 09 to get some good wins in if he cant then Tony shouldnt fight him if he does it will actually turn out to be a big fight, not huge but big.,
