I like Nonito as a fighter alot he seems to have good boxing skills, very good power and he is very marketable with him being a Pinoy who speaks perfect english. When he did the world a favor and KO Darchinyan it seem like the boxing world was his at the time by winning a fight in spectacular fashion that he was'nt the betting favorite in. What prevents him from being more active as a fighter?

Yeah, I too am confused. Are there any problems with him that are preventing him to fight more often?

I want to see the kid fight as much as possible. He's beautiful to watch, IMO.

Damn good question. Our best young champions and prospects are letting us down these days. Whether they're underperforming or just MIA completely, it's a problem. Donaire is another guy - WTF?? Where is this dude when you need him?

Nonito wasn't getting any fights made with his old promotor so he has recently came to Top Rank.. His next fight is Nov. 1 vs his IBF mandatory Moruti Mthalane..

he was changing promoters and it was not a clean easy process, He is now with top rank and will get fights more regular if he is fit and ready

    (a) He had a couple of fights fall through on him, including a scheduled fight against Hussein Hussein in Dubai that was cancelled after he already started training camp due to inability to secure a location, and then (b) he changed promoters, so it takes a while to get a fight after that is done, and it's almost never a clean process without the fighter filing bankruptcy.

He is a bit of a forgotten man at fly-superfly. But he is decent chance at beating anyone there.

As been mentioned promotional issue seemed to have held him back but good to see he had a fight lined up in november on a very stacked T.V card.

I'm glad you asked, Benny. I had been wondering about Nonito myself. Showtime had a special on today showing some highlights of recent bouts and when I saw Nonito crush Vic I thought, "Hey, where has this guy been?" Nice to know he's got a fight coming up.

He spent too much time waiting for the Japanese champions to be available and when they were they didnt want anything to do with him. Then he was suppose to have stay busy fight in May against Hussein Hussein but that card fell through because of not enough sponsers. Recently he was scheduled to fight on the Margartio/Cotto card but something happened and he got pulled out. Nonito is pissed about not getting any fights, dropped Gary Shaw and now is with Top Rank.

I think really Shaw is upset at Nonito for beating Vic, he was suppose to just be another win on Vic's record, and because he won he doesnt know what to do with Donaire.

I wish he would fight on an Andre Ward card here in San Jose. Donaire is from the bay area but I don't think he fights here often.
