Why doesn't Sergio Martinez chase Andre Ward or some other top 160 fighter

Floyd and Manny weigh the same. They are functionally the same size.

The difference in physical size between Marquez and Mayweather is smaller than Sergio and Mayweather. Floyd is walking around just above 150 and is fighting at 147-154..Marquez himself is walking around near 150. Sergio is walking around near 180 lbs...and he's not soft.

 

Sergio is not even going to make the Hall of fame

 

if he beats floyd and cleans house at 160 he is a lock for HOF.

 

He has no pride as a boxer; he wants the easy, big money fights. He doesn't want to fight people that could beat him, so he will try to pick fights with big names that come in small packages.

He is an opportunist coward. The thing is, he is also a great boxer. What a goddamn shame...

 

That would prove absolutely nothing; I wouldn't think any less of Mayweather if he lost to Martinez at a higher weight and I wouldn't think any better of Martinez for beating him at that weight. Now, if Martinez beat Mayweather at WELTER I would be impressed. I would love to see him try that...
